Hi, I have not post here for a long time. I just wanted to share my recently acquired toy. 2 weeks ago I answered a local speaker add. The seller replied that his friend wants to buy it, so its considered sold. Last night, he asked me if I am still interested since his friend does not want to buy it anymore. I ended up driving 120km back and forth and bringing these heavy speakers home....my Pioneer HPM-100. I checked the insides and all seems to be original, the cabinet's in fair condition. Due to the size and weight, its difficult to avoid scuffs when moving this around.

Sorry about the stands, I am still looking for a good one.

Doon sa may dulo ata (near BPI sa kanto at lagpas ng Little Chatty's). Not sure if they have professional speakers but you can check it out.

Nice catch Karipas. Very popular among vintage hifi enthusiasts in the US and if I'm not mistaken HPM-100 was designed by a JBL engineer.

Thanks Sir Sandawa. Yes, you are correct, from what I have read it was designed and built as a direct improvement to JBL L100 century by these ex-JBL engineers when they moved to Pioneer. The JBL's and HPM's are hard to come by here at reasonable price and condition. So when the add came out with a price tag of Php 6300 per current CAD$ to Php conversion rate it was a no brainer. I am happy with the purchase, the seller told me he got it from the original owner 5 years ago, the condition in my own assessment is an easy 8.0 to 8.5.

Congratulations. That's a bargain at P6.5k. DS-1000 is on the same category in Japan as Yamaha NS-1000M, which goes five figures there in Manila.

Six years ago, I had a chance to audition a similar speaker, DS-1000HR, here in Davao (also P6.5k asking price from the trader). Ang dinig ko medyo matigas ang bass. So, I decided to buy the smaller DS-a7. Binalikan ko yung DS-1000HR nung sumunod na araw, pero naunahan ako ng pastor na taga Cotabato.

Tama ka, baka kailangan nya ng amplifier na match sa kanya. If you have several amps, simulan mo na i-test.

Sa dulong dulo malapit sa BPI. Karamihan ng tinda doon ay professional amps eg guitar amp. Ang palatandaan ay sa harapan ng tindahan maraming mga speakers.

sir rascal, sinilip ko yung speaker, makinis nga kaso 8K ang last price, iniwan ko na lang ulit..pero try ko ulit balikan sa saturday and try ulit kung ibaba yung price..hehehe. thanks.

Sabihin mo sa kausap mo doon na babaan naman kasi iyung Diatone DS-1000 naibenta nila ng 7.5K. Mas mababang model itong DS-77HRX pero bakit 8K ang presyuhan.

wala kasi yung may-ari mismo, yung taga bantay lang, siguro may bilin na huwag ibaba basta basta. Di bale, im sure meron pang darating. Sabi nong taga little chatty, baka daw magkaroon ng mga bago this Nov, pero walang exact date..planning to go back by mid Nov at sana nga may mga bago na.

When it comes to speaker kc sa size ng woofer at wattage sila nagbabase ng price and for 12" usually 5-8k ang presyohan nila depende sa condition kung makinis pa at around 300w expect mo around 7-8k price. Nde nila alam kung TOTL yan or Entry level wag lang ung Yamaha NS-1000 dahil familiar na sila sa model na yan..

When I got my Diatone DS-1000, first pinakita ko muna na interesado ako sa 12" model na yan which I think DS-77EX I try to huggle down the price pero sabi hangang 8k lng tlaga.. nde nila alam na ang tlagang target ko ay ung DS-1000..

.. kaya sabi ko.. itong maliit magkano? 6.5k daw.. sabi 10" lng yan at 100 watts lng dapat nasa 4.5k lng yan..

pero ayaw talaga ibaba ung price. Anyway kinuha ko na rin dahil mahirap na rin makahanp ng ganyang model dyan sa pier sa panahon na 'to.. kakilala ko pla ung nagtitinda dun c Ronald

oo nga napansin ko puro wattage at kung gaano kalaki ang size ng woofer

..di bale, mas okay na don sila mag base para pag meron maganda na 10" lang ang woofer, eh mas mura..tiyagaan na lang ng antay at sana nga may dumating by mid-Nov.

If I'm not mistaken Coral series III yun 8" selling for 3.5k wala pang tawad.. before meron akong series V 10" na ngayon ay nasa father na ni sir Rascal101 maganda tumunog specially nung kinabit namin sa AU-D907F ni sir Rascal match in heaven..

Nakahanap rin ako ng ganitong speaker sa Little Chatty's. Kaya lang noong buksan ko sa may tweeter napansin ko sa loob ng kaha na may binago sa speaker. Iba na kasi ang kahoy ... in short may gumalaw na. Anyway, binalik ko at pinagpalit ko ng dalawang speaker. Kaya ingat lang kapag bumibili ng speaker specially iyung mga hard to find o TOTL.

at kung meron naman sa amplifier post mo naman sa kabilang thread..

I remember before pag pumupunta ako sa pier dala dala ko pa ung printout nung mga list from niji website...hehe pero syempre nde mo dapat papakita sa mga nagtitinda dun or else magkaka-idea sila..
