WELCOME TO MY WORLD

Version 7.0
Finally after almost two years of saving, my FULL HD dream had become a reality. Well except of the projector ofcourse. Another dream, another day, hehehe. (Panasonic DMP BD30, Yamaha RX-V1800, Mordaunt Short MS-904).

Version 6.0
The new flat with a few more additions to the system but sadly we need to let go of some stuff. The bar for one is now a thing of the past but we’ve replaced the plasma to go the HD-route, bought a new 1080p up-scaling Denon DVD player, a Bada line conditioner, and my very own Wii.

Version 5.0
It was just a year ago when we moved to this place. A lot of additions and major upgrades I must say. The 42" Plasma for one, then the cerwin-vega! centre speaker, my $15 Philips CD player, velodyne sub, and lastly my very own BAR.

Version 3.0 - 4.0
Same gears, new flat, and my favorite new addition the Pulp Fiction poster.

Version 2.0
This Harman Kardon and Infinity tandem is such a sell-out. The bookshelf version of Infinity’s BETA model is more than enough but I just got to indulge and buy its floor-standing sibling.

Version 1.0
This is my first ever Home Theater system. As you can see they look cool, big, and well set-up but underneath those pictures is the first set of mistakes I made of not planning my purchase properly.

My Home Theater system may often change but the lessons I’ve learned from the experience taught me well to be watchful of my vanity. My thanks to all the members of pinoydvd.com, your passion to this hobby skilled me with what I currently have. More power guys and thank you for stopping by.

Until next time.

Salamat po. I made the pictures B&W kasi yun din kasi yung theme ko. A bit tricky yung calibration kasi empty yung room, pero for some reason the system sounded great. I guess thanks to harman kardon's 'ez-setup' in-built calibration tool.

Hi again guys,

Thanks for visiting. My old system was sent home to the Philippines months ago. Luckily last week I was able to get a replacement. Technically we can say it's dressed down compared to my old one but I'm a bit happy with it. I miss my old Velodyne sub and the functionality of my old receiver though. HK 3550's EZ-calibration tool RULES!

Anyway my system is as follows;

Infinity Primus Series package
Harman Kardon AVR130
Pioneer DV-266 DVD player
Panasonic 29" TV

The experts say JBL sounds better for movies while Infinity is great when comes to music. Something about the type of material that JBL uses on their speakers but if you ask me after trying them both, I'd say it's still a case to case basis.

My old JBL set-up is way higher when it comes to specs compared to my Infinity system but for some reason movies before sounded soft. I can hardly hear the person talking. Not to mention I need to pump-up more power to my surrounds to really get the effect I wanted.

Right now with the same room but dressed-down infinity set-up. Watching movies is more enjoyable. I can hear people talking and understand them as well on mid-volume. The surrounds sounded great, so watching x-men 2 is a bliss because for once I am as if virtually on the set when nightcrawler was attacking the US President. Music sounds great, not too loud yet clear.

But to be fair JBL is a good system, I guess the set-up is just too strong for my room and requires professional calibration. Reasons why when I took it home to the Philippines and placed on a much bigger area it worked well. Once we watched "EXORCIST THE BEGINNING", one of my brother's female friend run off the house after the demon suddenly popped on the screen. The sound effects got to her like crazy, she did not come back to finish the movie.

 :)

By the way JBL sub and Infinity ones are BAD. Get a sub like Velodyne or better. I'm using infinity right now and I'm missing my old Velodyne CHT8. Right now I'm still short of budget but getting a new sub is definitely in the pipeline.

 ;D

I bought it from Harman House in Dubai. Madami silang outlets nagkalat all over UAE but I got friends sa Diera City Centre branch so I bought it from them. Not to mention okay din yung audition rooms nila. The last time I check, they're on SALE.

Thanks man but the thing is I'm not home (Philippines) right now, I'm in Dubai. Ano pa man, I've been looking around on our local classified ads for second hand Velo sub but with no joy.

Anyway Thanks again.

Pero ano pa man wag mong kakalimutan na after mong bilhin, you need to ship it home so always consider the cost ng shipping.

Hope this helps.
