I answered that in a different thread. click here. Its just a DIY project based on research sa net. There are ready made sound absorbers that I saw in HT shops that cost about P36k for a set.

NEW AGE: Thanks bro, like I told you thru text, I am still bleeding from the renovation cost which ballooned to over 2x our estimated budget, not to mention my upgrade to HKardon :'(. I didnt know that LABOR cost would be so painful pala. Funny that I am a licensed architect (but non-practicing for many years now) and I wasnt able to see that coming.

The kind words I get from this forum serves as a wine to make me forget my expenses, hahaha. Thanks again for everyone's encouragement.

for 2 channel setup: hehe, mukhang wala nang lugar for 2 channel setup. But the audio is good enough w/ the Harman Kardon AVR, I am content...for now.

for the EB & invites: Mukhang impossible EB sa liit ng place namin. 10 people max na siguro baka siksikan na tayo sa room. Yung mga sa harapan maduduling na sa lapit ng TV

But thanks for mentioning. Coordinate na lang tayo with Hans if its possible

Sir Sight & Ronjet. Thanks, I have read somewhere that the room makes up 50% of the sound. In my experience that is true, its not just the gears.

My old place (Ronjet mentioned) where I lived temporarily during renovation, was a bare walled 9 sq m. room. When the source is harsh, or when there was reverberation from the subs, ang sakit sa tenga! Now I played the same sources and they have been reduced drastically (reverb reduced to zero) by the DIY room acoustics design. Accoustics helps a lot in improving your system.

Even last night, I was also starting to appreciate the surround capability of the system, which I was never able to maximize in my old place. As I sometimes already sit near the kitchen just to distance myself from the TV

Thanks pre. I was actually reading Singapore interior design mags (cubes & renoideas)during the later stages of the construction. The glass and the modular rack at the back was inspired from that magazine. And the veneer and blue cloth combo, and the veneer sliding door...and... Teka, you are right, singapore style nga!

! For her patience enduring all the KULIT I did whileI was trying to squeeze this room into the house, haha

. Sa bagay, she now supports me in this hobby. I slowly got her hooked into watching DVDs with me. She gives me DVDs for bday & special occassions, kasi super obvious na yun lang ang nasa wishlist ko

. Hehe, now she wants to watch more often than I do. The TV was her wedding gift to me btw(Jan 04)...Haay, I am blessed with a supportive wife...

And the upcoming projector is a gift from my brother in law from the U.S. He pitied how the TV ate up most of the room space so the PJ is his house warming gift

Bro, I will PM you the contact number of the vacuum salesman. Ask for a free demo, free naman eh. I tell you, I never expected myself to be impressed by a vacuum cleaner. But this one is GOOD! and its a lot cheaper than the P117k

as for me, buti na lang supergirl also supports the hobby, she helps me in scouting for LPs and good CDs, pero pag medyo major purchase eh katakut-takot na auditing, justification, etc...di pa kami kasal niyan hehehe!

I really had to be resourceful due to our limited space and budget. So,

The glass we used at the back was from a closed down shop of a relative, so the glass (not the frame) was FREE

.
Frosted Glass below the blue light was from a broken glass door from Richville Hotel, also FREE

The 6 cubic meters of fiberglass insulation was from leftovers of an insulation installer who is our customer,they gave it to me FREE

.
Best of all, the projector, as I mentioned above, was FREE

Congrats on Supergirl! Ganyan din kami before the wedding! (cuz I had to singlehandedly save up for the whole occasion.) Concerned lang sya sa wedding savings nyo

Now, My wife naman just gives me that frowning look on major purchases, but lets me do as I please. I made it a point to separate my audio hobby (using my private savings, ouch

) to fund this hobby. She knows I get motivated to work even harder when I have an expensive hobby. Yan tuloy, now I am in the Audio/Video business.
