Saw this unit at Abenson Sm North Edsa yesterday. I wanted to get it but it was waaaayyyy over my budget. :-[ :-[ If i remember right, its price tag is 59,990.00. ;D  I think it was a 32 incher.

So for those with the mulah to burn, looks like this is a good buy. Its digital, BTW so HD ready, equivalent na siya sa digital ng sony and pixel plus.

Where did you learn of these display solutions from?
Are these the same as the 13" depth CRTs that Samsung has announced they are "development"?
Or you're referring to another form of slim CRT display?

According to a published report the 13" depth CRTs (supposed to sell at or less than current wide screen CRTs)
should be available in 2007. Unsure of exact release date since the design is still in development stage at the time.

It is exciting to note, though, since CRTs require almost no maintenance compared to equivalent RPTV LCD, DLP & plasma solutions. And should have better picture quality.

I don't know kung ano yung nakita ni garfield3199.I saw some too.forgot the brand.Pero it's not really that slim like the ones produced from LG ang Samsung.

After years of losing out to LCDs and plasma displays, those bulky CRT televisions are staging a comeback courtesy of Samsung. The new 32-inch Vixlim digital TV they’re showing off is only 35 centimeters thick, about half that of regular CRTs, but’ll cost way less than an LCD or plasma TVs. The first Vixlim sets should start showing up around the end of next year

Yan ang inaabangan ko. 13" deep CRT displays from Samsung!  Suwerte na natin kung darating yan dito late next year.
Pinakamabigat na panlaban ng mga yan, eh, less than 1/3, if I remember right, ang power consumption compared to regular 32" wide screen HDTVs. And according to Samsung themselves it doesn't cost much to retrofit a plant to mass produce those CRTS.

Ang sarap niyan pang DVD viewing without the hassle of LCD backlight, RPTV projection beam, plasma gas charge maintenance.

Wala akong nakita.  Tinanong ko ang mga salesmen - none of them knew what the hell I was talking about.

I saw some too.forgot the brand.Pero it's not really that slim like the ones produced from LG ang Samsung.

I don't think you'll ever remember the brand.  LG Philips (The Korean-Dutch joint venture) and Samsung are the only SLIM CRT manufacturers.

Pls see this thread:

Uhm... Samsung should do better than just 16".
My Sony AR292 is already only 20" deep, that's the external case dimension.
Of course my Sony isn't HDTV capable nor is it in wide screen format; then again it's still only 20" deep

Glorietta activity center had a TaeKwonDo event over the weekend and Samsung was a sponsor.
A 32" slim CRT was on display but the case was not as slim as I expected. It's almost as deep as my Sony.
I hope future developments can still make this concept better.

yah, saw this at Glorietta... di nga maganda picture quality...

Geometry problem is very obvious on widescreen (2.35:1) program content.  The top of the program's letterbox frame is straight enough, but the bottom of the said frame is obviously curved.

Moreover, picture quality is awful.

Tapos, nakita ko yung LG 42" plasma - dramatically improved contrast and brightness. Talong-talo talaga ang Slimfit.

Given the difference in picture quality, plasma is really the way to go despite the colossal price difference. ;D
