I recently discovered that the 'Join the Brotherhood' and 'Take A Stand' menu sets each have different sets of deleted scenes.  So, there are 25 deleted/alternate scenes all in all.

So the first disc of the R3 is actually different from the R1 equivalent. The R1 has the same deleted scenes on both menus, and there are only 24 of them.

Actually, there are only 24 deleted/alternate scenes in the R3 version, not 25 as I've mentined in my previous post.  The deleted scene "Plastic Weapons Manufacturing" appears on both menu sets.  Below are the deleted/alternates in each menu set:

Take A Stand
  • Xavier Voice-Over for Main Titles
  • Alternate Version:  Beast Meets Logan
  • Extended Fight Sequence at Jean Grey's House
  • Alternate Version:  Bobby and Kitty Skate
  • Plastic Weapons Manufacturing
  • Hank Warns Trask of Magneto's Plan
  • Original Version:  X-Men Board the Jet
  • Jean Senses a Scared Little Girl
  • Storm Creates a Wave
  • Beast Breaks A Neck
  • Bobby Freezes Phat
  • Alternate Ending:  New School Year Begins
  • Alternate Ending:  Logan Returns to Alberta, Canada

Join the Broterhood
  • Jimmy in Laboratory
  • Pyro Tells Magneto About the Cure Announcement:  Clean Shaven Version
  • Pyro Tells Magneto About the Cure Announcement:  Bearded Version
  • Alternate Version:  Guard Yells at the President
  • "Psychic Battle" Voices
  • Original Version:  Jean Displays Her Power at the Encampment
  • Plastic Weapons Manufacturing
  • Magneto Asks Jean to Help In the Battle
  • Alternate Version:  Here's Juggy
  • Magneto Tortures Logan
  • Extended Dark Phoenix Destruction
  • Alternate Ending:  Rogue Returns

They're all the same scenes, then.

Interesting, though. It seems the R1 is the erroneous one rushed into production in this case, since it actually makes no sense to have two different menus for exactly the same disc contents. What is that, just so you can choose gold or blue as your favorite color?  ;D

Yes, I've read somewhere that there have been confusion in the various R1 versions with regard to the number of deleted/alternate scenes included.  Some reported 21 deleted scenes, while others only have 10 deleted scenes.  I only "discovered" the different set of deleted scenes the other day when I was scanning through the disc looking for easter eggs.  All the while, I thought that the two menu sets had the same contents.   :)

These are supposed to be the easter eggs in this release:

- Beast reciting Shakespeare
- X-Men landing in Washington
- Collosus throwing Wolverine

So far, I've only found the first two.  Has anyone found the third one?  Are there any other easter eggs?

X-Men: The Last Stand is back at Astroplus DVD shelves. It's the 2-disc edition priced at P299.

Recently, a single-disc edition of X-Men: The Last Stand was released and unfairly priced at P299...notably the 2-disc edition is out of stock.

I asked the Astroplus sales lady if they'll be having the 2-disc set re-stocked, and she said that no new stock will come. According to her, the 2-disc set is "apparently out-of-print".

On other matters, X-Men: The Last Stand is the highest-grossing X-Men movie in the Philippines. It made P167.2 million in the local box-office, over P40 million ahead of X2.

i still see some stocks at astro southmall, around 2 copies at astro festival & recently sa M1 sa glorietta after i had my lunch at dad's today.

may problem ata ang 2 disc ng X3 kasi some point in the movie when i bought one before during the sale, my freeze time sa pioneer player ko, so i returned it & had it exchanged to another title kasi sigurado ako ganun din sa ibang copies ng 2 disc nito. unless some of you dont have that freeze at a certain point of the movie

I got the 2-disc at regular price during it's initial release. I haven't watched it again since then, but I don't remember the movie freezing at any point.

Sir, maybe that is layer transition on the disc itself.

Just viewed this again for the first time since I've seen it in theaters back in 2006.

It's a really frustrating film especially for X-fans like me.

Lot's of cool ideas & a lot of bad ideas too. Brett is a decent action director.
Great opening(Angel, Prof X & Magneto) but really poor ending (sobrang bitin at only 104 mins.)
Cyclops & Rogue just end up as pathetic characters you never really care for.
If you had any emotional investment with these two characters you just end up feeling short-changed in this flick.

Haay! I'm just venting out my frustration  :(

I must admit this is an exemplary DVD though both in PQ & AQ

OT: Hope X-Men First Class pushes thru  ;)
