Best bet is to read reviews off Amazon.com.

Most Hallmark films are middle-of-the-road.  Not great, some crap.  They are made for tv with limited budget.  That's why Magnavision is selling them cheap.  Same for 'In the Beginning (not sure if it's Hallmark)', I now seldom bought Hallmark films after being fooled with the local Hallmark Poseidon.

I haven't watched Merlin, so can't judge that film...

As juancho has already seen the film and stated that he loves it, I think he was referring to DVD quality and not the movie merits/production values. His questions were rather specific.

I haven't bought the title in question, but from my experience with local Hallmark discs so far:

1. They've all been DVD5's

2. Audio is DD 2.0

3. Image is fullscreen, even when the R1 counterpart was released in widescreen

4. One local Hallmark title I bought, Peter Benchley's Creature, actually had "For Screening Purposes Only" flashed at the bottom of the screen. And this was a store-bought ORIGINAL DVD, so they mastered it from what looked like a pirated source!

So... caveat emptor.

Oh ok Tnx :)

I'm reluctant to buy the DVD for now.

I'll just wait for the eventual price drop.
