Hello, I biwired my speakers using the speaker a and b option on my yamaha 557. I noticed after a few minutes the receiver shuts down and prompts me of a Check SP cable. So yun yung ginawa ko naisip ko kasi baka shorted yung cables pero malinis naman yungpagkakabit ko. So what i did is lahat sa speaker A option lang tapos di na namamatay yung receiver.

Guys what do you think is the problem?

Bi-wiring using the speaker A and B terminals turned ON shouldn't be a problem.  They just engage the connection in parallel which is the same as putting both cable leads on a single speaker A terminal.

what's the impedance of the speakers you're using?

di po kaya you need to change the impedance setting of your 557?  :o

most probably when using speaker a+b in bi-wiring your 9.4 it is presenting too low impedance for your amp to handle as sir av has suggested na nagpepresent ng parallel connection sa avr mo. if my memory serves me right magiging 3 ohms na lang and nominal impedance pag nagparallel ka ng dalawang 6 ohm speakers.
better na iconnect mo na nga lang sa speaker a yung both terminals mo to bi-wire.
Without the proper image, all else is background music.
