Box set: mukhang standard amaray case.  I was hoping it to be digipack.   Will probably pass on this one too.

Why 300?  After Warner's success with 300's 300 helmets, do they have to stick to that number?  300 lang ba ang hardcore collectors sa boong Pilipinas?   If that number holds, that will be really limited and frankly that journal looks much better than any helmet.  And has Warner allocated their 300 supply meaning that PinoyDVD.biz stop taking preorders once that number is reached...

Will take a second look at that journal... (was procrastinating...) Also was thinking whether that journal was worth Php 300, but if the number is just 300, then it will be worth it.  Preordering before the clock strikes 300, I mean three... ;)
Clicking on a preorder is a valid contract.  So that bound us to pay 895 instead of the correct 845?  ;D  (joke)

From that statement, it seems to indicate it will be a bulkier version of this:

R2 Harry Potter Years 1-5 boxed set

as opposed to this:

Harry Potter: Limited Edition Gift Set - Years 1-5 (R1/R2)

Those bookmarks will have to be uber impressive, since most collectors would probably already have Years 1-4, The R2 boxset is ordinary fare, leaving OOTP and those bookmarks to justify 2k+.   Although I am jumping the gun on this since it's all speculation as I haven't seen the R3 pics yet.  And with Christmas just around the corner, it's the season to be irrational...  ;D

By the way, there's one last release that hasn't been announced properly yet: it's a Harry Potter Years 1-5 Limited Edition Gift Set priced at P2995 (daw).  It has a wand and some other stuff but I wasn't given a complete rundown yet of the contents.   :)

Thanks for the 'inside' info.   Buti na lang at hindi maganda ang packaging ng 2295, or else baka na-preorder ko... kung sakali tatlo ang nabili kong HP (having preordered HP5 with faux leather journal).

Warner playing some kind of game?  Releasing info a little at a time.  To lure people to buy three version of the same movie (in one release cycle)?

From the price, it look likely to mirror the R1/R2 LE.   But I have a feeling that it will not preorderable ala 300 giftset na super limited lang talaga at unahan na lang... hopefully I am wrong.  Maybe .biz or Firewired can shed light on this?

I personally still believe that a lot of collectors will automatically pass on what is ultimately an incomplete set of Harry Potter films. Many of us are just fed up with double-triple-quadruple dipping tactics of greedy studios, and have very limited shelf space already as it is.

Yup, it's not pre-orderable.  P2995 is the final price.   :)

Even if I don't have the first four films (which I do btw), I know I'll pass this incomplete release.  Are we looking like cows already?  ;D

With virtually everyone here passing on the boxed set, I wonder how many units of this will get sold?

a couple here and there but not very significant. Sales of this will probably go up once it goes on sale... ;D but not so considerable also...IMHO. Will wait this out also...I've resisted getting any release of this franchise so far. ;)

That's a surprise!   ??? I talked with Warner two days ago and the synchronized street date for HP 5 R3 is on Nov. 12, 2007. Better tell Warner.  ;D  By the way, I was also told that R1 release is end November so we're actually ahead by half a month.

At .Biz, we'll start selling today or tomorrow but shipment will definitely start tomorrow so that we abide by the street date commitment.

Im surprised as well, usually standard release date kung WARNER.  The shop here is EzyVideo and Laserflair.  They may have different arrangements from WARNER.

Anyway, good for me. I got something to watch tonight.

So, when will you be sending notices to those who pre-booked with you?  And how come your site says that it's only going to be available on "11/16/2007"?

 ???

The moment PinoyDVD.biz get their stocks.

The date penciled in on .biz site is not accurate, it's for .biz's convenience, so that when stock arrives, they could just change the date, and the item will go 'live' and on sale.  no need to code the page from scratch.  Some items in there, should probably be removed and says Out of Stock... notably Flushed Away, which is out in retail so long that it's now being discounted 50%.

There will be some special releases of the Order of Phoenix here. Some of the sets will have the Harry Potter doll. One will have the Gryffindor scarf (?) and the last one will have a Hedwig figurine.

Please PM me if you are interested. I will post it on my thread if there are enough interested parties: http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=72805.0

Got my reserved copy just now at Astro SM Davao. The one with the leather journal.

I saw the boxed 1-5 set. It looks inviting tho esp with HP1 being Widescreen. hmmmm...

What irritates me lang, di cya slipcase unlike those previous titles. nkakasira sa display. hehehehe! and ang cover art nya different din. Plus the ever disturbing 'IMPORTED DVD' sticker na nakadikit pa sa may title. grrrrrrrr.... Anyhow, here are some pics:

Just passed by Astro SM Makati to claim my faux leather edition. Imagine my surprise when they told me that Warner cancelled their sale of this. But they said Warner will be compensating those who preordered by giving out a yet-to-be-announced free item. So I didn't purchase any HP5 edition until I find out what that free item is. But when I saw a previous post in this thread that the faux leather edition was sold in Astro Davao, I was dumbfounded. WTF?! What the hell's going on Warner?
