i had a chance to preview sir mark's new pj! its a sim2 mico 50 grand cinema, its a led pj which is the future in home projection technology, hopefully the more down to earth companies start to introduce their models sooner than later, i think casio, luxine and even panasonic are all ready on this. as for the price of this particular sim2 model... just google it.

the pj is humongous! its bigger than the old sony, its instant on and off (parang tv!), very quiet too.

well, i am not here to review the pj, i am not qualified for that, i think sir mark can do that for us, i just want to give some observation on how i saw this beast in reference to the old sony lcos pj.
1. its not night and day from the sony, but the colors on this sim2 seems to be more balanced, skin tone is spot on and white is really white (parang ginamitan ng tide)!
2. its very bright, but this may be due to the fact that the last time i saw the sony, the bulb is an old one already so it may have loss some of its output already.
i think the main advantage of this pj as sir mark told me is since its a led pj, the light source is rated at 30,000 hours, and what is surprising about the 30,000 hours, during the course of the pj's life it is said that the light output will only degrade very very very slowly. so for that alone, sir mark does not have to recalibrate once every so often once a bulb degrades or once he changes a bulb.
but to be honest, i would be very surprise if this pj even last 15,000 hours with its current owner... hehehe, i am sure before that day comes this pj might already have a new home...
again, sir mark, thanks for having me, great conversation, wine and food, and i might say, for the longest time i have been visiting your ht, this is the first time i was able to view a "whole" film feature. ganda ng immortals! sound and vision!
