di pa eh, pero kung ma-test at ok yun tube, baka magkaroon ako ng at least isang extra rectifier.

maganda yung mga groceries na dala ni hans, may coke bottle, may bumbilya, etc.

mr. president, galing ng slam ng st70 mo pre, pang koleksyon talaga yan... sunod naman fisher at eico?

sir, nilagyan ko ng marker (masking tape) kung saan dapat naka-align yung tape sa octal socket notch nung preamp

ST kimpao.. idol ka talaga namin.. mukhang perfect mo na yung pag-papakintab ng tube amp casing a.. lalong pumogi yung st mo..

I used to have this sansui tube amp, it had 4 output tubes na 6l6GC and blue din ang kulay..cool

how much is your budget? the other caps you mentioned are quite pricey.

ala naman. caps that i mentioned are for the dynaco, cap rolling baga, sir.

anyway, putting aside price factor, just need inputs on a st70 using any of the caps i mentioned.

no experience e, but if you like the sound of the ST70 on sprague orange drops, you can try solens or auri caps. if you want paper in oil you can try jensen or audio note (makes the sound smoother according to those who tried it YMMV). electrolytics its either cerafine or black gates.

hmmm, ano pa bang coupling caps.

These are from personal experience. YMMV

Black Cats - no good. Harsh, glary & grainy mids. Rolled off Lo's & hi's

Orange Drops - Cheap, closer to "vintage sound". If you want this, get the 716 rather than the 715. Value for money

Auricaps - more refined, smooth, sweet, detailed & neutral. Could be expensive.

Solen- ok but not great. Cheap, Not as refined and smooth as the auricaps. Mids can be a little forward.

Illinois - good compromise between cost & quality. Don't get the polyester versions. Not as good as the polustyrene or polyprop.

Jensen - have not heard the copper foil PIO's. The Alum PIO's are musical, airy and sweet with a lot of bloom tho have a tendency to sound lack punch. At best in the Mids but these are expensive caps.

Hovland Musicaps - in the same league as the auricaps but not as smooth and sweet. Good transients and dynamics but a little tilted in the mids for my taste.

MTX - Good dynamics and focus. Clean extended highs. Also expensive.

Bear in mind the value also changes the sonics to some extent.

It's basically not a pure DIY cable since you can purchase it by the meter at upscale audio (megamall, 300 bucks per meter, which is not bad at all considering the significant change ). Just soldered the rca plugs that i have in my stash.

chassis of dynaco is good as is. no need to change layout of dynaco st70.

Just using mozilla's reviews on the different coupling caps for the st70. more personal experiences are highly welcome. will be using them as reference also for my upgrade path "Phase Two" ika nga nila. Mwehehehehehe

mahirap na mga bosing, di baleng napamahal ka pero maganda kesa naman napamahal ka pero hindi maganda.

What coupling cap will you tend to replace, is it the 0.05uF or 0.1uF? Mit RTX is a good choice but bit pricey.
