the song has a lot of electronic effects, that aren't really handled by the 300b... sounds polite, it does sound big though (as if its coming from all around the room)

the st70 gives more punch, on the down note of the guitar - mas mapapasabay yung ulo mo, sabay air guitar

btw - sold na po yung ST70 na binanggit ko

ewan ko, but i've never liked a 300B for rock. parang hindi tama eh. the 2A3 does rock a lot better than 300B. pero bwiset sa speaker choices, konti na, mahal pa

i am hoping i can brew a 300B that rocks

kimpao, yes, i am brewing a PP 300B, how did you know? or is that gut feel?

STC circuit is for pentodes and not appropriate for true triodes.

STC is an effort to mimic the low output impedance characteristic of a triode (because pentodes have such a high output impedance) by introducing an "active" feedback in the form of a triode (hence the term super triode connection).

going back to ST-70

i have read about a conversion that was made to make his ST-70 true triode, he dumped the EL-34.

sir, re: the PP 300B, what are the other tube complements??? rectifiers, driver??? and if i may ask, how much power??? same pa rin ba sa SET at around 8watts per channel??? or higher??? also, will this also have the "magic" of SETS for vocals???...while the slam and the speed is there??? being a true rocker siyempre i'm sure yung "bilis" dapat pasok sa taste mo...and if i may add, sir maganda nga yung PAT COIL!

superman, a triode will be a triode (and a pentode will be a pentode) hence, the vocal magic (is that what it's called?) will be there. the important thing in PP amps is balance, so this is one area i have thought about long enough. i believe i will achieve that in this incarnation. the circuit i'm coming up with is something i have avoided so far (due to extra components) but now i'm ready for that. i'm waiting for an opportunity to get the Lundahl transformers from mang martin in singapore.

here's the kicker... at least 20wpc

even if i can, i won't make an 845, so this is good enough for me.

you won't see this amp until a couple of months, as i'm busy with my 807 (10wpc, Pentode), pre-amp (2 versions), and a push pull 2A3 (10wpc).

Andrew offered me this:

PSe300B using Electro Harmonix Tube with6sn7 drive and two 5U4G rectifier.
PSE300B is 20 watts/channel.

Ano po ba yun pre-amp na gamit nyo para sa ST 70?, puede po ba malaman ang feedback ng performance. Ano po ba maganda separate unit ang pre-amp na line stage at phono stage or 1 unit combination of line and phono stage.

wala akong ST-70 pero try mo PAS-3 (with phono, MM)

if you don't need additional gai just use a passive linestage, but you will need a phono stage.

i have a passive , and i have an active tube preamp , pareho walang phonostage... depends sa iyo, on a budget, ok na rin yung built in yung phonostage sa preamp - pero maganda din yung separates para pag nag upgrade ka, pwedeng paisa isa lang
