THE implicit context of this thread is that a P200 HDMI cable is as good as the prestigiously-branded ones. Not quite. This is my experience. I owned three HDMI's: A 1-meter Galaxy brand made in Taiwan, a 1-meter Kimber Kable, and an 8-meter (31+ feet) Kimber. The Galaxy came from around four years ago, long before HDMI came into vogue. It cost P700, the Kimber 1m. at P4,000 and the super-long 8m. at P16,000. The Galaxy puts out a picture with more GORGEOUS coolor, a richer color pallette. But its the Kimbers that I have put into fixed use. Why? Because it gives a sharper image and has more natural looking colors. In measures thats not easily quantifiable, the Galaxy indeed brings richer colors, while the Kimbers puts out a quantisimal less. But I have to go for the more natural looking tinges and a sharper picture resolution because thats technically more faithful to the source material. Yet as a side note, the British HIFI-HOME CINEMA magazine chain - a journal thats more appreciated by audio-video technical reviewers rates the Kimbers (whose HDMI is only a single grade, no other variations) as more "colorful" than its distinguished competitions in (at least in) Europe like QED, IXOS, Monsters. From such evaluation, it means the Kimber brings richer color but it does not "adulterate" the tints & hues inherent in the source like the Galaxy probably does. Probably for most folks, using the Galaxy gives better cheers because its just certifiably gorgeous, but for some, they're more stubborn in going after a more faithful reproduction.
The P16,000 Kimber, while truly hard to swallow at first on my part, ultimately makes itself justifiable because of its length, but beyond and above that is its capability to give absolutely no deterioration on the image despite the hyper-long length. I took this length because it is de rigeur for front projection systems that is not easily fixed in a locale thats near a video player, a computer or other sources. It is said that no HDMI cable is being made outside of China or Taiwan, hence HDMIs are more "egalitarian" among themselves in craftsmanship. But based on the perceivable color of the Galaxy and Kimber - these things may not be exactly created equal....
