with regarding sa qulity ng sound at video im sure wlang loss tlaga dahil digital once nakuha signal yun nayun...

but with regards sa tibay at tagal ng gamit I would go for a branded cable thats worth 700-1k, (nakabili ka nga ng LCD worth 40-50k)
what do u expect from CDR king puro cheap items  ;D, though usefull items I should say..... and most of the time completo sila....

good luck

i agree. kung sablay sa build quality, edi bili na lang ulit.   kahit tatlong beses magpalit, mura pa rin sa 700-1k na brand.....pero seriously, mukhang tatagal naman yung cable, using them for over 3 months now, no issues so far.

Well explained. Thats the reason why I bought an extra HDMI from CDR king just this Friday! 1.8m for 200.

I'll still go for monster cable, the one worth P11K. I believe that to get the best quality and ensure that your investments will last long, you shouldn't scrimp. So if you have the money (which you did when you bought an LCD tv in the first place), go for quality (which is usually the ones that are expensive). That's just an opinion. :)

By the way, wala pa akong P11K but would not hesitate to buy the one from monster cable if I did.

Hi,
I've seen a lot of debate on investing on a branded HDMI cable vs. the 200 peso HDMI of CD-R King...  What do these branded cables have that the CD-R King HDMI cable does not?

I think the main question is... what do i lose if I choose the CD-R King cable?

Many thanks!

I think this was answered before, but I remember that there was none in terms of quality of video/audio. Durability is a question nobody can answer, CDR-King's HDMI has only been in the market less than a year or so, so it's your call.  ;)

thanks for the inputs.  sometimes it's a marketing hype for the expensive cables whereas you only need a 200-peso cable to make it work.  I think the rationale there would be - you've already made a HEFTY investment on the devices (TV, Players, etc...) ano ba naman yung sa cable?

I find this thread very interesting.  Actually - very tempting.  With all the scientific inputs here, I think the 200-peso cable will be as good as the branded ones.

galing.

thanks!

Both sides have a logical point of view, but for me it's economics.  Why buy something expensive, when a bargain is available?  I'm stressing the word 'bargain', rather than cheap, because cheap projects a low quality picture.  Plus, with the testimony of fellow pdvd members, it really is turning out to be a bargain, than a cheap HDMI cable.  ;D

Hi IceTea,
haha, I think you've used the right marketing terms there!  great price/performance ratio if I would say it...

many thanks!

THE implicit context of this thread is that a P200 HDMI cable is as good as the prestigiously-branded ones. Not quite. This is my experience. I owned three HDMI's: A 1-meter Galaxy brand made in Taiwan, a 1-meter Kimber Kable, and an 8-meter (31+ feet) Kimber. The Galaxy came from around four years ago, long before HDMI came into vogue. It cost P700, the Kimber 1m. at P4,000 and the super-long 8m. at P16,000. The Galaxy puts out a picture with more GORGEOUS coolor, a richer color pallette. But its the Kimbers that I have put into fixed use. Why? Because it gives a sharper image and has more natural looking colors. In measures thats not easily quantifiable, the Galaxy indeed brings richer colors, while the Kimbers puts out a quantisimal less. But I have to go for the more natural looking tinges and a sharper picture resolution because thats technically more faithful to the source material. Yet as a side note, the British HIFI-HOME CINEMA magazine chain - a journal thats more appreciated by audio-video technical reviewers rates the Kimbers (whose HDMI is only a single grade, no other variations) as more "colorful" than its distinguished competitions in (at least in) Europe like QED, IXOS, Monsters. From such evaluation, it means the Kimber brings richer color but it does not "adulterate" the tints & hues inherent in the source like the Galaxy probably does. Probably for most folks, using the Galaxy gives better cheers because its just certifiably gorgeous, but for some, they're more stubborn in going after a more faithful reproduction.
The P16,000 Kimber, while truly hard to swallow at first on my part, ultimately makes itself justifiable because of its length, but beyond and above that is its capability to give absolutely no deterioration on the image despite the hyper-long length. I took this length because it is de rigeur for front projection systems that is not easily fixed in a locale thats near a video player, a computer or other sources. It is said that no HDMI cable is being made outside of China or Taiwan, hence HDMIs are more "egalitarian" among themselves in craftsmanship. But based on the perceivable color of the Galaxy and Kimber - these things may not be exactly created equal....

Can anyone explain why this is so? Is there any technical explanation for these phenomena? Because based on the explanation, being digital, it is either 0 or 1, yes or no, meron or wala. So how come there was a difference in picture quality? Speed of transmission maybe?

I bought a 16-meter Kimber cable na HDMI. Very expensive. Sira, and it took several weeks to determine that it was the cable. Akala kasi muna ung dvd player or ang projector.

I also have a P1200 HDMI cable from Pioneer, P800 HDMI cable from Electronic Boutique and P200 HDMI cable from CD-R King. I think all of them are exactly the same, except for the Kimber cable that was so expensive tapos sira pala.
