Based on consistency of performance during 4 days of regulation play, that honor should go to Lee Westwood. He was just one birdie short of joining the play-off with no big numbers on any hole.
I don't care about putting stats but Tiger is the best putter from any range when he needs to make one.
Based on what transpired during the play-offs, it was definitely not that Rocco didn't stand a chance. In as much as Tiger made the crucial birdie to force sudden death play-off, Rocco missed his own birdie opportunity within 20 ft. Rocco was just one hair short of the trophy. One day, someone will be lucky enough to sink that putt.
I guess the best we could hope, is for Tiger to be able to play in the Open Championship next month. But he doesn't need to force the issue because he has already won a major this year. Better make sure the knee is fully healed or he risks cutting his career short, jeopardizing his quest to break Jack's record. It would be sad though if he misses the Open. Watching them pros play golf in courses designed by sheeps under blustery conditions is a totally refreshing spectacle. And I really like those bump and run shots from wedge distances.
