From what I understand, 37AV500U and 37AV500E should be one of the same product. Perhaps, the picture above is of another series.

After we sent the picture for clarification, the local Toshiba distributor claimed that the picture is different from the model.

Different countries have different specs, some of these changes are merely cosmetic, some would be in the area of tech specs, some go as far as both. Even though they have similar product or model numbers. If you're in the Philippines, a good point of reference would be Hong Kong, Malaysia or Indonesia.

A good example is the Panasonic 32LX80, in Japan this model is available in black and silver, while we only have the piano black here. Plus in Japan the LX80 has an SD card reader while obviously, the local counterpart does not.

i bought the 37CV500E from Sight & Sound, i love it! plus factor of the excellent customer service and after market sale of the S&S shop! thanks so much sir vic! as per sir vic advise it will be calibrated after a month.

Bro, I suggest you see it for yourself. Attached pic sometimes differ on when or where the photo's taken. I went to see both unit in SnS. Add the Lx80 among the selection. I went home with the invoice having the 32CV500 on it. Pana's PQ is really amazing. Using the CV500 as PC monitor is better than my laptop's screen (XPS M1330).

i know, but im out station now, as ppl at my current area not that pro and friendly! :'(i couldn't compare much!!

Both Toshiba 32CV500 and Hitachi L32A01 reveal almost same picture quality. But between the two, I choose 32CV500 because of new released TV. Also because of brand name Toshiba, which is popular in LCD TV manufacturing.

Sir E-reply/Nemesis, yun bang ToshibaCV500 IPS alpha panel na din?....I saw one Toshiba on display sa mall..side by side with the Panasonic..color is almost same..kaso yun nga lang..kapag offcenter ka nsa viewing..nagwashout na ang picture..you have to be dead center para maganda ang picture viewing..So sir will the new CV500 will be having the same? i mean u have to find the right spot just to enjoy its full picture potential?

The Toshiba 32CV500 is not made of IPS panel. Since it is not of IPS panel, it won't provide wide viewing angle. However, depending on your need, Toshiba can accept 1080p while Panasonic can only upscale to the highest of 1080i.

Thank you for buying from Sights and Sounds, calibration is done after 60 days of purchase. This will give you enough time to check your unit for any manufacturers defect ex. dead pixels, etc
