Hi mga bossing,

I'm currently planning to buy an NMT as my birthday gift, my friend told me about a Seagate Media Player, which is around 5k. Any reviews on this one?

Also, saan ba nakakabili ng mga NMTs? (Popcorn, Xtreamer, etc...) Meron ba sa mga stalls/malls?

Thanks!

kay annot , garfield .. hanap ka nalang sa market place

I think the XTreamer PRO wins the value-for-money competition among the NMTs.  It is more expensive however in the long run it would cost less, in addition to getting more features and capabilities.   I'm not sure but try comparing the cost of having various sizes of storage on different systems.

Apart from HiMedia, any other brand that can handle VOBSUB subtitle?

VOBSUB is the subtitle format from dvd when ripped into mkv format.

Hmm, looking closely I can spot why
Comparing a 1055 chip(Egreat R6B) vs. a Sigma Designs SMP8XXX A210 is fair. Maybe Egreat S7A and S800 is a better comparison.

Wouldnt it be helpful to buyers (both newbies and refreshers) tabulate a matrix of PDVD models over chip used, so its easier to compare available NMTs? Let me know i'll do one for egreat and HiMedia, and consolidate them

Hi! I was looking at the new upcoming media players out there since I am in the market for a new one. I stumbled upon the Crystal Acoustics Media player on one of the gadget blogs. Does anyone know if it is available here already? Does anyone here own one? Please check out this site http://www.crystalaudiovideo.com/ProductDetails/e818f6a1-3a21-4f47-b400-f54763b51195.aspx

I hope someone will do a comparison review of this media player soon.  ;D

Kaiboer - unbelievably this brand plays ALL files, even those that Chill, Med8 and Cinema Tube can't play.  If you have MKV files that your current player cannot read, you should try Kaiboer because it reads every type of file I have tried it with.  Am not sure though how durable the product is. But at 3,500 I think it's worth the gamble. My 2 cents.

Philip I think you should get your Dad a player that is very fast to boot-up and fast to power down.   I'm sure you understand how much of a pain our beloved A200 is on these aspects.   Hence, I guess a Realtek based player would be more suitable.

Pero kung sa yo rin mapupunta yung player in the end, you should just get another A200....diba...hehehe

The AC Ryan Media player will play any file type that Kaiboer plays and more. The software programers of AC Ryan from Holland release a new firmware almost every 2 months, as a new file type comes out, they release a firmware to make AC Ryan compatible with it.

I play 40GB rips w/o problems on R200 pero S100 is shockingly awesome with full BD menu.

its Sigma like PCH, pero < 9k/unit, plays region locked BDrips.
if you fancy external SATA disks - it has both  eSATA and bare SATA, plus  2 USB host ports

If PCH would just boot up like Sigma units (super fast bootup) then PCH is a hands down perfect 10/10 for me.  :)

Correct me if i'm wrong but diba meron ding parang NMJ and other apps yung Sigma units? Yung automatic hahanapin sa net yung mga covers ng movies mo? The only "con" i can think of sigma units are their lack of capability to play BD menus properly which is why im waiting for the next version of Sigma units. Baka maayos na nila yung BD menu problem nila.

I think you got it the other way around. It's only the Sigma chipsets that can play BD menus currently.
