I don't own a Wharf Vardus (or Valdus?) but I have a Wharf Sapphire 83, 90's era too, and I believe it's better than the current Diamond 9 series. I noticed this since I had numerous 9 series before and the Sapphire is simply more refined and musical.  ;D

I dont think that theres a wharfedale Vardus.

I do own one, a Valdus 500. Like this one.

Those are B&W 602S2, Wharfe Valdus 500 and DTX4.15

the vardus series are the consumer line of wharfedales. they're very cheap and sold in the appliance stores instead of the specialty audio stores. the diamond series definitely sounds better than them. :)
