seguro mainitin lang talaga ang sr4300.  I used to have the wharfes-ongkyo setup and I experienced a very hot on top.  I replaced it with sr4300 pero ganoon din ang nangyari.  Right now I'm pairing my B& W with 8-ohm speakers, pero ganoon umiinit din, very hot.  So i decided to buy fans placed on top and the problem is solved.  Pero, I'm getting unnecessary sounds emitted by the fans which is affecting dynamic range of my listening room because I have to raise my vol just to get rid of the sound of the small propellers.  So its not advisable for serious listening.

Pare try using those Fans na kinakabi sa loob nang PC, tapos lagyan mo nang rubber feet bawat side para nde mag vibrate. Very silent nang mga fan na ito, so wala ka masyadong maririnig unless u go near sa receiver mo tapos u put the volume sa 0, pero mahina pa rin yung sound.

If the Marantz can accept 6 ohm load, I don't see any problem.  If I recall right, the DTX slim series are 6 ohmers.

Not sure about 4300, 4400 can take 6 or 8 ohms.

Actually yes, kumuha ako nang power supply sa sirang PC, madali lang i connect kasi yung connectors nang power sa loob nang PC eh kasya dun sa mabibili mong FAN kasi pang connect talaga sa loob nang PC yung fan.

If u can find a broken PC na gumagana pa ang power supply kunin mo lang power supply nun and also yung on button dun sa PC, u can make a wooden box para lagayan nung power supply tapos pwede ka gumawa nang hole para dun sa on at off button, then use th power cord na kasama nung sirang PC. tapos ayun may instant fan ka, may on at off pa ehehehe.

Kung malapit ka lang dito, bigyan kita, super dami akong sirang PC na gumagana pa ang power supply, siguro around 20 yun.

I used to be owner of SR-4300 mabilis mag-init, maybe becuase di siya real power! Try nyo multi-channel stereo and the effect is hihina ang volume kasi na devide power from each speaker so ang tendency you have to increase the volume. This might be the reason why madaling mag-init and SR-4300 hindi discrete ang amplifier.
Now I switch to SR-6300 pag nag multi-ch stereo ka you will need to to lower the volume. And noticed an improvement on DTS playback compared to SR-4300 IMHO

onga sir, i guess those episodes several pages ago about the mysteriously weak 6300 had people staying away from the brand, even though the *400 models were said to have more accurate power ratings.

if only the price was 21k for the 5500 then the 7500 would probably be within my range, but i did ask the sales rep several times coz the 5500 didn't have a price tag on it, he said 27k..... sana yun ang price ng 7500 hehe.

Had an SR7300 for 1.5 years now.  Bought it from Marantz's authorized internet merchant for refurbished equipment in the US.  Delivers clean, accurate power effortlessly. I prefer it's neutral character, compared to Yamaha's for instance, which I find too bright.  I'd rate Marantz & HK tops in this class.  (Onkyo got a bad rep for exaggerated power rating claims.  Denon had reliability problems in the past, I believe.)  Just my 2 cents ...
