walang problema diyan kay pareng JB, tiyak matutuwa iyun...

kung meron ka 5692, vt231 or 6sn7 yun ang magandang pang input tube then yaan 5691 ang para sa output section...  :)

so let there be another aikido...  8) 8)

may i suggest the 6SN7 as input and the 6dj8 as output tubes, gain is about x10 this way and output impedance is guaranteed low..
the 6sl7 should you use it as input in an aikido will give you gains of about x30, too high for line stage, but for an aikido phono stage, it will do...
That's OK, you can like or dislike anything you choose. That's the wonderful thing about the freedom

these family of tubes are high transconductance types, easy to drive, and does not need really high voltages to operate linearly...

a lazy friday noon experiment...
since i have a matched quad of Winged 'C' 6L6GC
and i'll be running out of EL34s soon... i asked JojoD
if my tube amp can accept my 6L6GCs and he said
yes... it's possible but i have to zero in its pot bias...
and watch out for the red plate just in case.

and behold... pwede nga  ;D ;D ;D

no sign of red plate.... yet  >:D

anong amp yan father? pwede rin naman na 6550 or kt88....or even kt120 kung kaya ng power traffo yung filament current...

right now, very lighty loaded ang filament windings mo....

zeroing the bias control is in effect increasing the negative grid bias, you have to do this when changing tubes other than EL34...

for your tube needs, there is a local source of EL34's....http://www.epektos.com/catalog/90270c5d-17be-428d-8204-30703444af81.aspx

if you can get hold of the 6GU7, you can try to change the 6CG7 for these tubes...the 6GU7 is like a 12BH7 with 6 volt filaments..
