Go to the A/V menu on your Xtreamer and change the Audio output to 5.1. 

If the settings were incorrect, the Xtreamer may have been downmixing your audio to 2-ch stereo.

Merong ac3 file na included, but separate. Pwedeng i-play yung audio file just like sa music library, but hindi ma recognize when playing the movie. parang nakahiwalay. sa WDTV ko dati, na recognize naman yang ganyan na files na may AC3 and DTS.


Advice naman kung ano dapat gawin para magka audio yung movie. tnx

Sir Eric just bought an Xtreamer from Ehome.  I would like to ask for advice on how to operate the NAS function of the unit.  I am not that familiar with NAS functionality and while waiting for Etrayz(sana maraming  na ang magpalista), I'd would like to experiment on how to stream videos from Xtreamer to my TVIX 4100.  Do I need  an internal HDD for that function for it to be seen on the network?  I currently don't have a 2.5" HDD inserted to it but I have 2 external 1tbs attached to it. Does it have a Raid 0, raid 1 function? Because I read in the TVIX forums that I have to place a sharename(e.g.tvixhd1) on the  raid 0 of the NAS with a corresponding share ID and password for the 4100 to stream movies from the storage device. Thanks for the help in advance.

Here's what I did....

1. Turned on the 1st unit (located in the living area, 1st floor) with internal HDD and external/USB HDD.
2. Set it to NAS Mode (Power off button, then Select NAS)
3. Turned on my 2nd unit (located in my HT Room, 2nd floor).
4. Selected NET from the options list (USB, HDD, NET... etc, etc)

... voila... they're wired by the way via a router.

Am using TP Link Lite-N Wireless router but as mentioned, they are wired. By the way, home network setup pa lang nasubukan ko. Haven't tried (yet) the NAS-internet setup .

not yet tried using mkv merge with wmv
you may try
just add (just click the add button) the files you want to merge (e.g. mkv and ac3 file)
select / unselect the files you want for the new mkv
set where you want to save the file
set file name
and press remux

Query on Slideshow - Background Music...

Before upgrading to FW 2.02, I had no problem with this feature. But with 2.02, it seems it stopped "working".

- checked my settings if Slideshow - Background Music is set to Playlist.. it is.
- checked my Playlist folder, they're ok. Had them played to be sure.
- but during slideshow, there's no background music.

To put a background music, what I do now is to play an MP3, then run the slideshow... 

Is this a documented "issue" or am just missing some setting/s here?

I'm aware that this plays Bluray ISO, but does it play blu ray image (in blu ray file structure/folders)?
 
Are the [movie] menu useable or accessible?

The quote above indicate no menus access possible for bluray iso, what if the files are in bluray file structure/folders?

Since what I have are unmodified bluray backups, does chapter selection / skipping ( ie. using button "|<<"  or " >>| ") function work properly? How about fast fordward or rewind?  
 
My old a/v receiver does NOT have HDMI, but only SPDIF and optical, etc.. for audio out. Btw, my incoming flat panel does not have speakers too. How will I be able to output audio?

Can this stream (over CAT5e LAN on a gigabit switch) from a server? Also my all data are stored in several 1.5 TBs 3.5" (which explains the need for a server and the inability to use the hard disk slot in the xtreamer)

I haven't had time to experiment with music playlist - so I don't have first-hand knowledge at this time.

I suggest you visit forum.xtreamer.net to check if it is a known issue.  It's also where I (and the everybody else) go when I need an online resource on the Xtreamer.

I'm out of the office now on mobile broadband... for some reason, it's taking ages to load the Xtreamer Forum.
