Is it possible to use Coaxial Cable as Subwoofer Cable?

YES!... as long as it's properly sheilded due to extra length than normal IC.

I'm currently using a generic RG6 and so far ok naman performance. No noticeable difference with my previous IXOS sub cable.

Korek!

good evening mga master, help nman po. ung receiver ko po kasi may sub out pero pero hindi po left and right ...

Ang sub out ng receiver ay mono.  Isa lang talaga yan, hindi left and right.

... unlike po sa subwoofer input ko na left and right.

Puwede mo ikonekta ang sub cable sa left or right input, pareho rin yon.

meron po bang cable na available para dun?

Kung gusto mo ikonekta ang isang out (from receiver sub out) sa dalawang in (to left & right subwoofer in), puwede rin.

Gagamit ka ng adaptor na Y-Connector:

kaya lng ang problema kung meron dito sa atin, thanks

Generic lang ang gamit kong y-connector, pero good quality naman.  Nabili sa Sound Dimension at Park Square I Makati.

Kung Acoustic Research, try mo sa 5th Avenue, also at Park Square 1 Makati.

Try both connections sir. First using a single cable, then try it with the Y splitter. Different subs work in different ways. Some people prefer just a single cable, some say their subs sounds better with a Y splitter. Just use whatever works best to your ears ;)

tried using a y cable and there's really a difference, its louder and has more depth compared to using just 1 rca line

Normally it is okay just to use one sub input. However, you can actually get more dB when you use both inputs on your subwoofer.

This is how I had my subwoofer connected:

Of course any "Y" connector will do. I just did mine like this for added porma,  ;D

Besides, I wanted to use the same kind of cable throughout the connection from the HT receiver to the subwoofer's left and right inputs. Well, it's just me.  :D

Any Y-cable should do. Should cost you no more than P50.00, di naman kailangang Acoustic Research or whatever brand unless preference mo talaga yun.

exactly po! got mine at ace for p44, then plus my spare female to female single rca connector
solve na, cheapo but satisfied with it, maybe sa ngayon, hehehehe ;D

yung y connector ko po is 2 male to 1 male, then to subs cable, so yung female to female rca connector/adaptor is needed tlga, out of stock daw po yung 2 male to 1 female

if you want i can take a pic of it for others reference po

By the way, this is not a branded cable. DIY lang lahat 'to kaya mura din.

Mind if I ride on the topic? :D

Any members here with bad experiences on long subwwofer cable runs? Interference?  Read somewhere that long runs aren't too advisable.

Cheers,

Extra long cable is not a problem, provided it's well built of GQ materials, shielded or if you can find double-shielded and it's not kilometer/s length.... :D :D ;D

Sa Amazon super cheap. look nyo don sa sub cable thread yung details ;) 6m length so pwede ko ipahati just in case palaring mag dual sub ;D But bec of the improvement in sound volume and quality, 1 sub is more than enough....for now ;) :D Also may kasama na sya free Y-splitter, I tried to connect it sa left-right and hindi ko nakayanan yung effect :(  :)

here it is:

I believe it really works. I know Monster Cables are high quality cables but overpriced... but you just need to search. If you can buy these cables for less money, why not:

Just got these online:

Monster Cable M Series Subwoofer Cable M1000 6M w/ Y splitter - $34.99; Brand New but w/out box/Bulk Package; Retail: $200.00
http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=1206

Monster Cable M1000CV-1M Silver Video Component Video Cable [1m/3.3ft] - $16.98; Brand New but w/out box/Bulk Package; Retail $125.00
http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=202

Monster Cable ULT V1000 SV-8 THX Ultra 1000 S-Video Cable [for my laptop to HDTV] - $9.95; Brand New; Retail: $69.95
http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=1717

Comprehensive COCTTXD13 XHD XD1 Digital Toslink Audio Cable - 3'; Brand New - $14.95 (B&H)
http://www.comprehensiveinc.com/store/p/5352-XHD-Digital-Toslink-Audio-Cable-3ft.aspx

When I compared the retail price with the price offered on Amazon, I said what the heck. I'll buy it and I did without thinking twice. The subwoofer cable by the way is d**ned heavy. Shipping these through the Army Post Office (APO) is another bonus. Di ako kailangan mag pay ng tax and ang mura ng freight through USPS. Smiley The only thing na hindi sale is yung Toslink cable from B&H. It's a high quality Toslink Cable.
