This looks like a Zotac derivative, branded as Xtreamer. Not for me.

I like them full-sized PCs completemented with ugly NMTs..hehehe

Sulitin mo muna yung kakayahan ng Mede8er DD+ mo. Kung yung Kaiboer 1055 plus nga kinaya yung 40GB na pure BD with DTSHD kahit hindi responsive yung remote and tila file mode play lang yata puede, yang Mede8er DD+ pa kaya? Hehehe

Correct ka dyan bro Allan. Kaya lang mas ok na ito as HTPC purpose lang kasi wala ng masyadong set-up. Unlike if you'll build one from scratch.

Kung baga instant na! HTPC / NMT all in one na.

... tingnan muna natin kung worth it nga talaga itong ultra na 'to... madalas kasi manyari dito, upgrade itch agad kahit wala pa halos review, and in the end, benta na naman at mami-miss pa yung dating gamit, hehehe ayokong mangyari sa akin yun

From the specs, it looks like a very compact PC running on Intel and Nvidia with MJ. So if you already have a Mede8er DD+ and a capable PC right now, why would you need this?

Something like KAIBOER's sub 5K player is more enticing..or a DIY PC with badder CPU and low power HD-capable card like the 5450 with KMP+FFDSHOW+CoreAVC...and better contents for your Mede8er's extra power under FW 4...and a new AVR of course...hehehe.

But yeah, some people would want this.

It's quite cute - especially if we can get it for 200 Euros.

Hell yeah, I for one would want this!

Its the convenience of not having to setup for yourself HTPC hehe!

If I want a PC, I'd built a PC, just like what Im using at home. If I want a player, I will get a player, with all the bells and whistle. I just want my player to have an extra flexibility when it comes to bug fixes. Because this is miniaturized PC, then it would not be that much of a problem. But I am not expecting for a perfect player of course, because that will be close to impossible. It will have problems, but what doesn't?

And yeah, its cute, I dont want to have a huge player on my rack hehe! Betamax anyone?

Assembling a different HTPC would be a bit harder to do. Since the Xtreamer Ultra already comes with an IR receiver and a full size/full function remote. Other than using torrent, I suppose you can run JDownloader on this as well. Am not sure which OS will be installed on this machine. Should be much more convenient, and less power consumption. I suppose the power supply for an HTPC would be much bigger than that for Xtreamer Ultra. That's what I think.

you have to wait 3 months after the website release kaya malamang mga last week of may pa ang release dito sa pinas.. tagal pa nun... di ko na maantay siguro.

The Xtreamer Ultra is up for preorders guys pero it's bundled with some accessories kaya it costs more than the initial estimate of 200 euros.

I'm not sure when/if they'll release the Xtreamer Ultra lang without the accessories.

What's the OS?

If its a PC based OS, then we get the same compatibility problems come software upgrade time unless its upgraded by the company's website much like Apple products. But if it were Apple, it will get bricked to force you to buy the new model, hehehe.

I'm a big XTreamer fan - have two XTreamer PROs. Can't really say I regret it but the Ultra was announce just a week too late for me ... set me up an E350N based HTPC. From I've what I've read the dual Atom + ION2 will do slightly better than my E350N but only tad more. What I envy is the casing.

I could be wrong but it seems to me the OS can be whatever you want. This will be a jackpot if XTreamer puts an application similar to what it has on its NMTs. As I mention in my other thread, I'm not happy yet with my HTPC software setup ... wonder if I'll be able to use XTreamer's UI on my HTPC ... now this would be something.

If they price the Ultra P15k or less, it will certainly be something I'll consider.

By the way, I wouldn't consider the Ultra a NMT. Its a preconfigured HTPC for me.

I got one from a TIPIDPC seller at php 16,400.

Once I find time this coming weekend, I'll set it up. So far when I checked it, it's really kind of small form factor. Comes with 4GB and a very compact remote keyboard.
