guys, i think the reason for the price is because it is not a "surplus" item, galing pa ng geneva...so you're sure na maayos ang pagkadala dito sa pinas...i'm assuming na wala tong cosmetic defects...i just hope ibaba yun price...thanks!

kung yang 557ESD, tapos mint condition, puwede siguro sa P5K. may nakita akong ganyan dito sa Davao early this year halos doble ng 502ES ang bigat, roughly 15kg, pero manipis. ang laki ng PSU sa likod na naka-usli. ang problema, kahit anong gawin naming linis nung kilala ko sa warehouse, ayaw magbasa.

i talked to a Japanese warehouse owner (engineer) yesterday who was claiming the surplus mid- to high-model CDPs we're buying, especially those in good condition, are superior compared with the brand new ones from Japan and China now sold at prices ranging from $150 to $1,000 (that would retail here from P9K to P60K). i'm not totally sold to that, depende siguro sa condition.

actually medyo nayayabangan ako dun sa Hapon, but there's probably truth to it. i remember talking to a Korean exchange professor on electrical engineering in a university here last year,  ganyan din ang sinasabi niya. kaya ako nagka interes dito sa mga surplus na 'to. btw, may nakita ko ditong junk na Trio tube integrated amp, 7 tubes ang nakita ko sa loob, pero disconnected na ang mga wires. tatawaran ko ng P200 baka may mapakinabangan pa.

bro, yung Onkyo Integra DX-7711 ni Bogsle ang selling for 6K at galing yun sa Switzerland and 220V pa (not a surplus item coz it's a 1999 model). I had a chance to babysit it for about 3 weeks and it's cosmetically mint without any defect whatsoever. the Sony 337 ES is the one selling for 5K and the seller is Titanium.

Kung kay Titanium yung 337ESD, '(yun yata ang na-test diyan na sweet-sounding?), siguro may karapatan sa P5K. Kung ako rin at talagang maganda ang unit ko, mataas din ilalagay kong asking price, kasi hindi ako mapapahiya kahit i-test ng ilang beses. Ang bottom line kasi, kahit hindi mo mabenta, hindi ka talo.

That only means one thing: tumaas din ang disposable income ng mga Intsik at Vietnamese, samantalang tayo bumaba pa. Tapos marami na ring local traders - yung may mga shops - na nag a-advance ng cash sa importer, kaya talo tayo - latak na lang ang natatambak sa warehouse. Yung TTs, binibigay na sa "give-away price", problema 5 na ang units ko sa bahay. Puwede kong gawin dito, pipiliin ko yung good models, kunin ko ng P500 each, tapos dis-assemble ang tonearm and motor, lagyan ng bagong chassis na hardwood. tsaka benta ko ng mahal. ano kaya? problema wala na akong panahon para diyan.

sa 'yo talaga papunta itong mga naipon kong CDPs (at least yung dalawang 502ES - maganda Sir). ang problema sa courier, mahal ang charge - from P600 to PK yung dalawang units, dahil mabigat. JETOK was supposed to be here last week, papadala ko sana, kahit isa lang, pero hindi dumaan sa akin.

ang sked ko, kung hindi magbabago, i'll be in Manila mid-weekend ng January with my wife and two kids (malaki ang baggage allowance). kung 4 units lang ng audio gears puwede akong magdala. kapag hindi ako natuloy, then, baka mapanis no other option but send them to you by courier.

OT tayo, pero hindi ko siguro papakawalan ang mga Technics ko (SL 1200 and SL-M1). Yung M1 ang maganda, hitsura at construction, pang-bahay talaga, hindi pang-scratch. yung Thorens at Duals (including an original 1219 - circa 1965), collectors items na yun. siguro Chuo Denki pa (made in Japan for Aussie market) puwede kong dalhin. it's a cheaper version of SL 1200 with pitch control, sold to me by a DJ in QC back in early '90s.

I was in contact with Jetok and he informed me that it was unfortunate that his sched was changed and he wasn't able to push thru.

Anyway, I'm in no rush, as long as I know I'll get my hands on those cdp - the operating room is always ready and waiting. 

Oh, I am not into TT anymore but I still vote for the SL1200 MKII.  Yo! DJ spin that wheel!

guys, guilty as charged,  I own the sony 337 esd, but for those who like sweet sounding cd players, di sila magsisisi dito. I got it for a high price din kasi from a friend hence I cant sell it at pier price  . I recently got an arcam cd73T and I played it A/B with the sony using a luxman amp. WS tono and spendor s3/5 speakers  and I barely noticed any difference between them. How ever I dont need two cdps thats why Im selling the sony.

sir, how do you rate the Arcam CD-73T? another owner here is somewhat dissatisfied with the Arcam and I myself heard it side by side with my NAD C542 and the former didn't quite lived up to my high expectation. how many hours have you been using your CD-73T?

if you're using the 2 inputs of the Tono preamp in your A-B comparison of the 2 CD players, it would be hard to tell a difference between the 2 as you'll mostly be hearing the Preamp

try using a passive attenuator in your A-B, I'm sure the characteristics of the 2 players will be more evident

sir, how do you rate the Arcam CD-73T? another owner here is somewhat dissatisfied with the Arcam and I myself heard it side by side with my NAD C542 and the former didn't quite lived up to my high expectation. how many hours have you been using your CD-73T?

Audioslave. OT na tayo, however, I like the arcam, the sound is very clear and refined for me. I have used it for about 50 hrs pa lang. Some have compared it to rotel 1072 and other jolida models with positive reviews. Iceman may be right because I used the two outputs of the WS tono, regardless, both the sony and arcam are very good to my ears.
