all NMT 1185 supports 3TB, pero there are some who CANNOT SUPPORT SATA III. so be careful.

best way to test before buying is to get the 3TB get full to the brim, and plug to your NMT.

Is this better than Popcorn Hour A-300? What are the differences?

Realtek 1185 is MED500X2 while the popular predecessor -- MED500 is 1073
1185 is 20% faster(chip), 20% cooler(chip).
from what i gather medjo bagal pa yung new interface ni 500X2 over MED500 so its not the chip that's causing it. Firmware lang yan so expect the UI to improve and mature over time.

Sigma of A300 is likewise 20% faster (chip), but I dont think its any cooler as sigma 86xx are known workhorse.

Bro, what do you mean by "Deal has ended and then you say Deal is on"?  Maybe yugadeals.com will raise by a thousand the price after the first set of units sold at 6thou.  sana maging 6.5thou man lang

Deal has ended means it is finished. Deal is on means it met the required minimum purchase for the deal to push through.

Version 2 of the firmware is out!  Upgrading went smoothly.  UI seems more responsive though there are a few caveats.

To Med500X2 users, pano ba gamitin yung favourites? I have movies from different HDDs and is it possible to have a single view for all movies? Hindi yung seperate paren per drives.

Also there's a 2.0.1 out just a day or two.

I think you will end up with two separate favourite folders with your scenario. A new manual is out too. http://www.mede8er.com/images/USER_INSTRUCTIONS/Mede8er_med500x2_user_rev5.0.6_21Nov2011.pdf

Up close and personal...

its on latest firmware already. one quick question, can anybody help me, i can't get the unit to detect my etrayz, under upnp it will only recognized two folders the torrents and the iTunes folders, my contents are not saved there.

second, trying to make an nfs share between the two was unsuccessful, i can't get the path right i think or is there something i have to do with the etrayz settings as well?

Hi. I'll try to take a wing at it. Can you post or PM ip address of your etrayz and 500X2?

Have you checked if the NFS on the etrayz is enabled? Usually you have to turn on that service if you're on a NAS.

Can someone help me out, I am trying to transfer files from the internal HDD to free up space and move some from my external hdd, thru my laptop but it seems the unit's driver cannot auto load to my laptop and recognize the connection. Is this because my laptop's usb port is only at 2.0 while that of mede8er is at 3.0 already? Anything I have done not right?

USB 3 should be downward compatible. From my experience with players, you should turn on the unit while the usb is plugged in. If you've already done that, you can probably try a USB 2.0 cable. Sometimes if a drive cannot be connected, you should try disk management from windows. If all else fails, call the shop where you bought the product for assistance.

500x2 can transfer/copy/move/delete file from its internal hdd to external hdd w/out using laptop or computer.simply go to the file you want to copy then press EDIT from the remote of 500x.just follow the instructions on the OSD.

how's the browsing speed on the new firmware, my only gripe is it takes too long to browse...  am on xtreamer before and it is quite fast to browse.
