I've been a long time member of pinoydvd (2001 I think) and started with this hobby as early as the late 90's. I started with a very simple set-up (21" Sony CRT, an entry-level Pioneer Prologic Receiver, a Wharfedale 5.1 speaker system with a passive subwoofer). Too bad that I wasn't able to take pictures of my first HT setup before I sold them. I couldn't even remember their models. I then upgraded to a Yamaha RX-V995 and Energy Take 5 with e:XL-S8. At that time, these were the favorite receiver/speaker combo at the hometheaterforum.com. I remember buying them from Image (Harrison Plaza) which back then was my favorite AV store. They've served me well through the years that's why I never really found the need to upgrade. Til now, they are still functioning well. When we moved in to our new house in 2006, I set up a simple HT using the same set of equipment. The only upgrade I made was the Pioneer Kuro 428XG Plasma (2008) which replaced the old Sony CRT.

I had some of my LD's framed and used them as HT decors
Up until last year, my set-up remained basically unchanged. I just added a dedicated BD Player (Panasonic BDT-110) to the old setup. Then last October, I got a Yamaha RX-V571. I eventually sold this after a few months as I didn't see any significant improvement from my trusty old RX-V995 (other than the convenience of HDMI connection and Ipod connectivity) so I went back to my old receiver.
It was only this January that I decided to make a major overhaul in my system. First, I got a pair of B&W 684 for my fronts, then got a B&W HTM62 for center. The Yamaha 995 was then replaced with an Onkyo 809, then I also got myself an SVS SB12-NSD. The upgrade offered huge improvement in SQ from my previous setup.

Finally, my Optoma HD33 1080p 3D projector arrived. The long Holy Week break gave me the time to set this up and make my own DIY PJ screen (this will do for now as the Sable fixed frame screen hasn't arrived yet)
The plasma was transferred to the second floor family room to make way for the 92" DIY plywood screen
The PJ mounted on a Peerless (PPA-W) wall mount
Optoma RF 3D glasses
Rack with current gears (Sony PS3, Panasonic BDT110 BD Player, Mede8er 500X2, Pioneer DVD and LD Players, Onkyo 809 receiver)

****6/26/12 Update****
Below is my audio set-up on the second floor family room. I'm more of an HT guy that's why I just got myself a simple audio setup to keep me company while exercising. The 42" plasma (Pioneer 428XG) came from the HT room but was moved to the second floor when I got the PJ.
My audio setup consists of the following:
Cambridge Audio 550a Integrated Amplifier
Cambridge Audio 550c CD Player
Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus
Onkyo ND-S1 Ipod Digital Media Transport Docking Station for Ipod
Ipod Classic 120GB
Polk Audio RTiA1
WDTV Live Streaming
Sanus NF-24c Speaker Stands
Bell'o AV rack NT2145

Wasn't quite happy with the Cambridge 550a + RTiA1 pairing as the SQ is more on the bright side. I wanted to improve on the low frequency output so I replaced the RTi with B&W 685. I'm much happier now.

Not really an upgrade but I added some 1/6 figures for decors
