Di ko na yata naabutan yung ibang imports  :), but among the unforgettable were, Jumping Joward (or Howard) 360, Ronnie Thompkins (shot or block or steal, first time I saw in PBA), Toni Harris (alley oops from Meneses),

Jumping Joe Ward

I believe Relosa sucker punched him from behind and then ran like there is no tomorrow.

*back to NBA discussion

...and since Kobe is sucking now in the Olympics here are some facts in support of the "We can only count 2 Rings for Him as "The Man" etc"

2000 WCF vs blazers 4-3 (Shaquille wins their 2nd toughtest series)

KB - 20.4 ppg 43% FG, 4.9 RB, 5.9 apg
SO - 25.9 ppg, 53%FG, 12.4 RB, 4.3 apg

2000 2nd round vs phx ( Shaquille wins)
KB - 21.0 ppg 45%FG, 3.8 RB, 3.4 apg
SO - 30.2 ppg 55%FG, 16.2 RB, 2.6 apg

2000 first round vs 8th seed kings ( Shaquille wins)
KB - 27.8 ppg 49%FG, 4.4 RB, 3.6 apg
SO - 29.4 ppg 54%FG, 17.4 RB, 2.8 apg

so 2000 is a clean sweep for Shaquille O' Neal

......

2001 WCF vs spurs (sweep, this spurs team had no fight in them. nobody in 2001 did) ( KB wins)
KB - 33.3 ppg 51%FG, 7 RB, 7 apg
SO - 27 ppg 54%FG, 13 RB, 2.5 apg

2001 2nd round vs kings sweep( Shaquille wins a close one. FG% & RBs gives it to O'Neal)
KB - 35.0 ppg 47%FG, 9.0 RB, 4.3 apg (his best series ever?
SO - 33.3 ppg 59%FG, 17.3 RB, 2.3 apg, 3.3 blk

2001 first round vs blazers sweep (Shaquille wins)
KB - 25 ppg 48%FG, 4.3 RB, 7.7 apg
SO - 27 ppg, 48%FG, 15.7 RB, 2.7 apg

so 2001 is Shaquille 3, KB 1. in a year nobody else even bothered to show up out west
....

2002 WCF vs kings ( Shaquille wins their toughtest series!)
KB - 27.1 ppg 41%FG, 6.3 rpg, 3.9 apg
SO - 30.3 ppg 53%FG, 13.6 rpg, 1.6 apg

2002 2nd round vs spurs 4-1 (KB wins a close one. Shaquille always dealing with Duncan Robinson double teams.

Shaquille was more valuable always )
KB - 26.2 ppg 45%FG, 5.4 rpg, 4.8 apg
SO -21.4 ppg 44%FG, 12.2 rpg, 3.2 apg

2002 first round vs blazers sweep ( Shaquille wins)
KB - 26 ppg 35%FG, 5.7 rpg, 5 apg
SO - 25.7 ppg 56%FG, 11.3 rpg, 4 apg

Shaquille wins 3-1, including their toughtest series ever vs the kings that the refs fixed

^ This is also in support of Any SG can fill in for Kobe back then argument. *e.g. put in Wade in those teams.

Kobe benefits most from LeBron hate - Fox Sports

IMHO Yes (and that opinion is backed up by Facts(and history) ;D), but without Shaq would the Lakers with those 3?

No.

the never ending ''Kobe only has 2 rings'' issue  :D :D :D

don't rely on stats alone, watch the regular season and playoff run of the 3 peat Lakers (2000 - 2001 - 2002)

you'll see that Kobe served as Shaq's facilitator with those drive and dish plays and of course the vaunted triangle offense with ran through the Lakers' 1-2 inside outside scoring punch.

whenever Kobe would go away from their offense to pad his stats, they usually lose.

Olajuwon in 1993? but he was surrounded by excellent role players (Horry, Smith, Thorpe, Cassell, etc)

then he had Clyde Drexler the next season (traded for Thorpe) and they also won that year.

Yes, e.g. Hardaway can fill in with that or any SG ;) take away Shaq... look at the season before Gasol(and the weakend West).

No one, but you'll know who's The Man and Most Valuable.

So for the Discussion of GOAT. Kobe only has 2 Rings vs. Jordan's 6.  :o

nah, i don't believe in ''The Man'' should deserve credit alone for a championship.

just like MJ couldn't have won without Pippen as his Robin.

any SG? Hardaway? at that time of the Lakers' 3 peat, he was already injury prone.

he still produced decent numbers but he wasn't athletically explosive as before when Shaq was still in Orlando.

even if Kobe gets 7 or 8 rings, i don't he'll be better than Jordan.

tignan mo lang ang supporting cast ng dalawang yan through the years, malaki ang advantage ni Kobe.

Well yes, Kobe as Robin has credit too for the first threepeat off course. :)

The Robin Trophies are not counted for the discussion of GOAT though or who's better, because if it is then Horry would be The One. :o

...and Eddy Curry would be a better player than Chuck/Barkley etc.

even if Kobe gets 7 or 8 rings, i don't he'll be better than Jordan.

Thank you.

Even Wade would win more imho IF he had Kobe's supporting cast.

kahit 100 rings pa si Kobe or Lebron, MJ will always be GOAT. no contest!

I think the NBA has a way of telling who Batman in a team is and it's called MVP. like horry may have a handful of rings but no MVP title. And that's a good way to measure the player's worth not only in his respective team but also around the league

Kobe's MVP snubbed career

http://www.lakersnation.com/kobe-bryants-mvp-snubbed-career/2012/04/08/

tama lang na he didn't get the award in 2000, 2001, or 2002. he clearly wasn't the primary option for the Lakers back in those glorious years for the purple and gold.

I hate Lebron, but seeing him play like this, dang, he's really good,
GREAT passer, good scorer,...
