When D'antoni was hired, I read an article which said to watch how he will tire out his team by having a 7 man rotation and by riding his starters like a workhorse. Jeremy Lin's injury was blamed on D'antoni overusing him in NYC.

Kobe did say, however, that the heavy minutes were necessary. Yun nga lang, not practical to play your 34yr old player that way. Gotta give the man some rest

Yup. It's all about pacing. Si Phil Jax magaling sa pacing at rest kasi nga Zen Master.

here's Kobe video on his injury. hard to see perhaps the toughest guy in the NBA being emotional.

NBA 2012-2013 Season
« Reply #6272 on: Apr 13, 2013 at 03:13 PM »
I had the opportunity to go to the US last December to watch a Lakers game. Turned it down because of financial constraints, saying to myself that Kobe (my favorite Laker, next to Magic) would still be around next season and maybe further on... So I had many more opportunities to watch him.

Watching today's game just made me realize how fleeting an athlete's career can be. And that there's a chance (very slim, I hope) that I may not see Kobe play another game again.

Should've seized that opportunity last December even if they were playing horribly at that time.

Sad day for KB#24 fans and followers BUT he will be back...Mamba will be back!

All the best to the Lakers!

Hope there will be insensitive and stupid posts vs Kobe's injury. You wouldn't want that to happen to your team/players either.

So where do the Lakers go from here? the past two games we had seen Lilliard explode for 38 and now Curry for 47. If they make it to the playoffs imagine the kind of damage Westbrook will do on a nightly basis against Blake and Nash. Metta is too slow to take on Westbrook.

I don't think we have seen the last of the Mamba...even if it takes a year to recover the guy will be back for sure. He ain't ready to hang up his sneakers yet. For the time being it is now Dwight's team.

We aren't even sure if Nash is going to back this year hehehe...nor is Pau after this offseason. In hindsight even Dwight may leave. Rebuilding project ito....

On the horizon is LBJ...somewhere along the line I feel LA will make it happen and eventually pair LBJ with Dwight.

sayang talaga!

Oh darn.  But given Kobe's physical conditioning and desire to play, he'll be back for sure.  He'll soon be playing before we can say M-A-M-B-A.

The Haters are sad too.  Because they just got robbed of the pleasure of seeing Lakers beat WITH Kobe playing.

NBA teams know this - Lakers' weakest spot is #1 position and they know how to exploit it.   That's why Lakers almost always match up poorly vs teams w/ class A PGs ( OKC, SAS, LAC, GSW, Portland ).

Not if d'antoni can help it. Haha

Up next, Tony Parker and later next week, Jeremy Lin.

Let's see how the team responds to the injury. Jazz only have to contend with the Wolves and Memphis.

Really fishy call at the end of the LAL-GSW game >:(
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRumli2qLqg

Curry runs into D12's illegal screen--Curry gets called for the foul--then Blake gets to shoot the FT???

Nakakahinala...

Anyway, Curry just needs to shoot 9 threes in the next two games to beat Ray Allen's record for most 3PTM in the regular season. Go Steph!

yup this might turn out to be a good thing for the lakers, para lumabas tunay na laro ni nash.

last season pumopogi si Gortat dahil sa mga pasa ni nash, hopefully without kobe dominating the ball. pumogi din si gasol at howard. lol

Kobe's post on Facebook.   -nbc

This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??

I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me...Then again maybe not!

It's 3:30am, my foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I'm wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what's the purpose of social media if I won't bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.

One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day.

"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer.

I know it's a long post but I'm Facebook Venting LOL. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge.

Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of this season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come thru.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much Love Always.

Well, hats off to Kobe for being competitive. Pero bad trip pa din talaga mga calls against opposing team ng LAL. Pag inalis mo mga bad calls, malamang hindi na lumalaban for 8th place ang LAL. Ang hirap talagang manalo sa team na 8 ang naglalaro sa floor. Given the season injury of Kobe, wala dapat foul duon sa play na yun. Kung papansinin mo hindi dumikit si barnes kay Kobe. Clean defense yun kay barnes and he got call for a foul dahil bumagsak si Kobe. And pag ang freethrow gap mo ay 16-50 sigurado walo ang player ng kabila.
