Paul George Named 2013 NBA Most Improved Player

Just one day after registering his second career triple-double, Indiana Pacers wing Paul George has been named the 2013 NBA Most Improved Player on Tuesday, the NBA announced.

With Danny Granger out for most of the year, George rose to the occasion for the Pacers and compiled 17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals per contest. He was slightly less efficient, dropping from a 44.0 field-goal percentage to a 41.9 percent clip this year, but he proved capable of leading Indiana to a No. 3 seed in the East as a go-to offensive option.

By (reportedly) winning this award, George beats out several other intriguing candidates.

Larry Sanders, Greivis Vasquez, Omer Asik and several others around the league took their games to new levels this year, and could all easily make a case for the achievement.

Si mookie IMHO was underrated. His defense on MJ was similar to Joe Dumars--clamp down. Ironic since Mookie played 1 and Augmon played 2 but mookie ended up guarding MJ whenever atlanta faced the Bulls considering that Augmon was known for his defence.

brooklyn and chicago are tough teams as well for miami. overlooked that being they are the defending champs. the knicks have what it takes to get to the conference finals. its only a matter of "if" they can bring their regular season "performance vs miami" in the playoffs. but the west I think is a much harder read... alot of strong teams that can make the west finals.

Yep, Miami is a different Team come playoff time. Knicks will have to have a next gear they can turn to as proven 3 years now(? Lebron choked though vs. Dallas

), Miami always have an upper gear come post season.
