Any Ice module (class D) amp users?
« on: Jan 31, 2013 at 09:22 AM »
Hi guys. I've been using my class D Ice amp for quite sometime. I find it very detailed with my system.

Any OEM users out there?

Sir parinig naman sana...naudlot yung project ko. Ano kaya gamit na chip nyan?

eto kasi parang mura lang at 2 pcs and can do BTL din

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/300W-TDA8950TH-High-Stability-CLASS-D-Amp-Interagrated-High-Efficiency-SMPS-Same-Size-as-ICEpower-250ASX2/656453633.html

dami rin niya iba modules, plus pwede niya assemble with case additional fee.

Sabagay $160 lang dalawang modules na. Pwede din eto at isang module na lang ang kailangan at mas mataas pa ang feed dun sa TDA8950TH chips (40V ata):

pang profesional audio daw yan sir, tsaka temp ako dati kasi mono blocks at the same time pwede rin bi-amp, sabagay same din naman dyan pwede kasi reconfigure mga modules nila..

yung mga power ratings nyan RMS kaya or peak?

They're built using the same chips and follow the same basic design. Mas mataas ang supply voltage nung 4ch model, hence the higher output rating. The polymer caps may also be superior to the electrolytic parts dun sa 2ch model.

yung mga power ratings nyan RMS kaya or peak?

RMS, hence the low stated distortion threshold.

i have built one using TDA8950TH, kits are sold at elab.ph for about 1500......i used smaller power traffo, my priority was longevity and sound quality over power ratings.... 8)

i have also built a lower power version using TDA8920TH, the owner says sounds like his 2A3 set.... ;D

these classD amps when operated "loafing" can really sound good....

sir Tony, request to refresh: what voltage range will it take. I still have my kit wrapped :-( - still unable to tinker with it - but everything soldered.

I bought ALto/Elvis combo PA system before - uses class D amp / 300W per ch at 4ohms - being used as such until now, good dynamics.

Sir Nelson dumating na mono blocks mo? Pwede pa share ano gagamitin mo, same B&O modules ba or yung 200ASC/SC?

Para di OT, I think that`s why they call it ice power because of the SMPS implementation. I`d really like to listen to one of these if bagay sa system ko.

ICEpower's Dual Loop 3 implementation looks promising, based on their recent demos and published measurements. It seems like it'd take them a year or more to trickle this down to their other product types, however (it's only in the ICEtheater7 7-channel module for now). I hope they do it soon, as Hypex' NCore modules are starting to eat ICEpower's share in the high end. Abletec is also starting to get a foothold.

The new Class D designs look really impressive in the benches, with some posting SNRs as high as 137dB. That's beyond what today's sources can deliver.

Hindi pa eh. Haven't ordered it yet. Same module pa din, the 125ASX. Next next week ko na order. Nag-iipon pa. Ice amps is currently owned by B&O. Pero dati ata, Ice amp na din sila pero iba ang may ari.
