Fear of burn-in is the excuse of many not to spend.
You ain't getting younger and typical lifespan is up to your 70s.
Buy a 4K OLED TV before 8K blu-ray players debut in 2026.
not an excuse for me ... my alternative for an OLED would be the Sony X95J when or if it becomes available and it is practically the same price as an OLED ... I still worry about the burn-in from my experience with a Samsung phone (S9) with an AMOLED display - after just a few months of use, the lines of the Sudoku game that I frequently play were permanently burned-in to the screen, hence I keep on watching out for feedback/comments/reviews from owners before dipping into the OLED tv's - I'm pretty sure that they would be catching up on the technology to prevent burn-in ... this was the same with plasma technology, the first releases really suffered bad burn-ins
I've also noticed the LG OLED displays they have at the Seoul International Airport back in 2018 had bad burn-ins as those are likely on air for almost 24x7 ... regarding the Samsung phone, I'm now on a S20 model for over a year and it doesn't have a burn-in image - not sure though if it's because I am avoiding static image or improvement in technology (or both)
Burn-in is a real concern for spending premium, hence it is a good thing to read reviews for people who used their tv's for several months ... it's encouraging that @Ceev is mentioning that the OLED tv in their office is not experiencing any burn-in after 12.1k hours of use
I would likely get the Sony A80J in a few months due mainly to the Google TV OS
