Guys, share ko lang routine na ginawa ko when I bought my first 50" plasma.
I hope i'm not threadhjacking, just giving out pointers to fellow pdvd members.
I got 50" LG Pv500 and as i've read online, notorious sa pagkakaroon ng DP ang unit na'to, not to mention IR.
So after I bought the TV and fired it up, i avoided tv channels displaying static images too long. Ok lang yung mga channels which has translucent images, keri pa yon.
And I avoided watching widescreen (2.35:1) movies muna for the first 100 hours or so. When it's inevitable, I just stretch it to fill up the whole screen, to eliminate the black bars on top and bottom. Since I only watch the TV for about 2-3 hours a day, need to say, it took a while for my break-in to be done. Just to add, I also avoided playing games on my PS3 muna as gaming naturally will trigger IR on the plasma.
Fast forward to Day X wherein i've used the plasma for 100hrs or more. Lo and behold, I haven't experience any DP and IR up to this day. Sometimes, I even pause the movie for so long when I had to attend to my baby, and no IR whatsoever. I even play games frequently after the break-in period and no problems so far.
Maybe i'm just lucky with the unit I purchased or maybe the breaking-in really helped but I can attest to the latter if you want to keep your plasmas kicking for years and years to come.
P.S. Calibrate your plasmas and you'll definitely love it more. Mine's no VT/ZT60 but i feel i'm in front of a small cinema when i'm watching movies.
My 0.02 cents.
P.P.S Plasma is bought May 2012.
