Fajardo is great at center but who's the reliever who can give their center position some quality minutes?
Kramer? Chua? I dont think so.
Arwin Santos at Power Forward? maybe yes but NO as he's more of a 3 than a 4.
Now who's Santos' reliever? Maierhoffer? He's a wingman not a power forward.
Of all 3 San Miguel group teams, the Beermen have the shallowest front court.
So far the San Miguel team i admired was that under Ato Agustin when they beat TNT.
Hubalde, Duncil, Yeo, Miranda, Santos, Ildefonso, Reyes played with a lot of heart and intensity during that championship run.
Hardly any PBA team plays big nowadays. Except for Thoss & Taulava, there's not much back-to-the-basket bigs anymore - and both Thoss & Taulava are on their last legs in the pros.
For the loooong time that TnT reigned supreme, their only reliable big was an aged Ali Peek.
The elite teams SMC & ROS have bigs, but these teams rely mostly on player movement and smart passing, rather than post play.

SMB has the MVP-award winners the past 2 seasons ...... one is still at his prime, while the other one will rule the paint for the next decade ..... Maierhoffer & Kramer are decent rebounding forwards that provide good minutes off the bench ..... Chua provides quality minutes as well.
However, the difference with SMC & ROS, their bigs know and fulfill their roles superbly ...... their bigs know their sweet spots and their roles on offense - something, which cant be said of SMB and its limited playbook.
SMB has all the tools, it just needs a single coaching voice and a defined system to contend again.
