Fronts.

In that case, what do you use for the center?

A wharfedale Diamond 8 center before, now a Tannoy MC center.

I have a Celestion SL-6 way back in 1984 driven by Robertson audio forty-ten power amp and a Canton EC-P1 pre-amp! Very natural sounding! ;)

most probably blown tweeters. you can send it to a speaker repair shop.

You have a great Celestion Speaker. These are using ribbon tweeters!

Maaring apektado na ang capacitors ng crossover network niya if it is using those electrolytic type that could dry-out or drift in value over over time. Hopefully din, the ribbon tweeters are still 100% ok.

So you mean there's a chance my ribbon tweeter is still ok. where can i bring the speaker for a fix.

threadstarter wonderlolo has a 3000. i saw it. sira na daw ang ribbon tweeters and seems irrepairable.

kung capacitors ang may problema, buksan mo ang unit tignan kung may leak. pwede mo rin alisin ang connection at sandaling irekta sa amp 1second--kung tutunog mag-isa, baka nga di naman sira?

When connecting tweets directly to an amp, make sure your bass levels are at its lowest position, better yet, just test the tweeters in the working speaker

delikado. kung buo pa ang tweeter baka sa ganitong pag-test masira. ambaba pa naman ng impedance ng ribbon tweeter nito.

thanks for the help guys i'll try to diy to check the capacitor. Tumutunog pa naman yung tweeter pag dinikit ko yung tenga ko pero hindi na siya matining.

connect a 2.2 to 4.7uf non polar electolytic cap or polyester or polypropylene cap in series with the positive of the tweeter. connect the speaker terminal and listen to the sound for any imbalance from both. also listen for any distortion.

recently acquired an entry level Celestion 1's purchased through Ebay in the US. small bookshelf type with a 4 inch mid and the metal dome tweeter. perfect for my bedroom.

been a fan of the celestion house sound since I got my first pair the CS6i back in the 90's.

i have a celestion 1 pa, collection na lang, still sounds good for a small bookshelf.

my first one was a celestion 5, bought at DCM in cubao (thanks sir Melvin) circa 1996-97 ata, na bust ng brother ko, tinodo on a new year's eve.  >:(

next was a pair of Celestion 9 (3 way big bookshelf). bought from mr. Davila, dad ni Carlo (musta na Bro..) in Merville, forgot when was it, cguro "98, later sold to my friend (Mike Go)...i'm happy i can still listen to it until now whenever i go to mike's house.  :) :)

and i am hunting a Celestion A1.... :) :) :)
yung meron jan benta nyo na sa kin...hehehe

tormentor,

exactly like mine as well. replaced the puny Samsung speakers from my samsung HTIB. The difference in sound is like a 1000%. a relatively small investment for such a huge gain in performance. Baka ibebenta mo yan let me know.  :)

Sir southpeak,

Congrats on your Celestion.

Just curious Sir Ben. What's the sonic difference between bass-reflex and sealed enclosure Celestions?

I have a Celestion 9, a big step up from my JBL SCS10, and currently used for music listening, while scs10 still serves as my ht speakers.  All i can say is WOW.

May recommended stands ba kayo for these? Or some one selling their old ones? Hehehehe
