I honestly think it's an orchestrated publicity gimmick, since although I still really enjoy the show... it's gotten so muddled and confusing. They've introduced way too many subplots which they have all left hanging. Some major storylines disappear for many months before being reintroduced - for example, the Mama Solis one. And the bones. And Dana. Not to mention the main one, who killed Mary Alice?

So a little stunt like this will distract viewers a bit from asking why about 20 storylines have been opened... and left unresolved.

Can't wait for it to be aired locally...even on cable....

It might be a while. Daily Variety reports the producers are currently selling the foreign rights to the show to different countries for a rumored US$1.2M per episode!

Baka naman may special rates for Third World countries. If not, we better wait for Star World to get it. They seem to really hype the Oprah apprearances of the cast, so maybe they're already in negotiations...  :)

Siguro may "Third World Country" rates, since I don't see how Studio 23 can pay $1.2M per episode.

Yes, Coming Soon to Studio 23 na daw yung show?

Premieres this July on StarWorld - After the pilot/Oprah special on July 5, subsequent weeks beginning July 12 have TWO EPISODES EACH from 9PM-11PM.

Question is... who will censor the show more, Studio 23 or StarWorld::)

Well, if we base it on Star censoring Under Your Spell and Studio 23 leaving it in, then maybe Studio 23 is the safer bet.  ;D

It's a song in the Buffy musical episode Once More With Feeling. There was some adult-type content in that song which Star took out. Studio 23 left it in when they aired it.

New season started already in the US. Wonder how soon it gets aired here. Disappointing to read the spoilers alone. Damn, I got hooked by this one. Still, methinks I'm one of the few who rejoiced that Everybody Loves Raymond won over this one. At least, Felicity Huffman won over Hatcher. Still, Marcia Cross rules above all of 'em housewives. We'll see if Alfre Woodard gives them a run for their money.

Well, I guess Susan and Mike really weren't meant to be, since they've added Richard Burgi to the opening credits. He played Susan' ex last season.

I'm not as intrigued by the new mystery on Wisteria Lane. Having someone chained to your basement is a bit too over-the-top, even for a show as campy as this one.

What's with that Burgi guy...he used to have a TV show of his own "The Sentinel"...then he'd turn up on th 1st season of "24" and even on "Point Pleasant".

He was also in the DTV sequel to the "Starship Troopers" film

I doubt it, since there hasn't been a single "TV series on DVD" from Touchstone/Disney released locally yet.

Maybe this is popular enough for it to be the first... maybe someone from VIVA can let us know.

In case anyone missed it in the other threads, Desperate Housewives is already on DVD in the country. Php 2500 at your local stores.

I think after a shaky start, the second season has finally hit its stride with the February sweeps episodes and last night's new show.

This week's opening sequence surprised me. Bree's storyline also crossed over to believable - Marcia Cross should be a shoo-in for acting nominations next awards season. And I think the show really functions better when they leave out the Applewhites. That's the problem with night time soaps - they add too many characters in their sophomore season. Hopefully, like The OC and One Tree Hill, Marc Cherry will also realize that "back to basics" works better, and he'll ditch these new characters with an implausible storyline before the third season rolls along.

When I saw the first episode of the second season, I wasn't hooked. Might consider the subsequent episodes soon before the season ends.

Its ratings are lower than Grey's Anatomy now since the post-Super Bowl episode of the latter. Some also say that it may also be due to the premiere of The Sopranos' final season.

Marcia Cross should win this time around since last year, she was most deserving. Bree is the most iconic and distinctive among the housewives. She wouldn't be that memorable without Cross' dead-on portrayal.
