Sir, ganyan din ata problema ko sa subwoofer speaker ko, I have a Yamaha Sw-100 subwoofer with two 7 inch driver (japan surplus rated at 70 watts rms, according to specs sa google japanese website pa nga). Pag movie tapos naka DTS ung sound (loud and clear), pag nag peak yung signal, example may sumabog sa movie, may naririnig ako na strange sound (sayad), kasi when I open the grille and look at the speaker (driver) sobra ang ang excursion ng speaker,..,pero pag audio cd ang source ok naman. Ano kaya problema nito??? Kailangan kaya i-center din? May kaibigan ako na may ganito rin Yamaha SW-100, same din ang complain nya...

Ganoon po nangyayari sa speaker pag na ooverdrive.  Tumatalon ang voice coil sa space provided na gagalawan niya.  Pag madalas na nangyayari yan nayuyupi ang voice coil former o yung pinagkakapitan ng coil kaya sumasayad na siya.

hi! gud day sir benedict! sir, do you fix wharfedale diamond 10.1? sad to say, kaka-1 yr pa lang po nito sa akin last oct 29 when i started to hear annoying sound coming from one of the speakers lalo na pag medyo ma-bass ang sound. pure 2 ch and sound listening lang po ang gamit ko dito. i tried switching the speakers pero same result. i cant really identify how does the "annoying sound" sounds like pero distorted ang sound lalo when i start to increase the volume at dito ko lang sa isang speaker na ito naririnig 'yung sound. i also tried testing it using two different amplis ( i have denon pma390 and pma680r) same result pa rin po. sir, medyo limited ang time ko to bring them to your shop. possible po ba na mabisita po ninyo ito sandali for you to be able to diagnose kung anung problema nito? dito lang po ako sa makati near rockwell-power plant mall. thanks and more power! godspeed!

Good Morning. Yes we can repair your Wharf 10.1.  We don't do home service. Please bring it to our place (it's one ride from your place, take the jeep going to Taft via Herran alight at Paz St. (landmark Mercury drug & 7-11 Paz) 1st street adter turn right then look for the sign board).

1. ano po kaya ang problema nito base sa experience ninyo?
2.  how long will it take to have it fixed and how much po?
3.  do i have to bring both of the speakers or just the defective one?
4.  in case po ba the damage is easy to fix and i'll send in early in the morning, will you be able to finish it by the end of the day?

3.  do i have to bring both of the speakers or just the defective one? - only the defective speaker/driver (without the cabinet)
4.  in case po ba the damage is easy to fix and i'll send in early in the morning, will you be able to finish it by the end of the day? - Nope, because uunahin namin ang mas naunang dumating at kailangan patuyuin adhesive at i-test.

A deduction of Php 50 - 100 from the charge of voice coil rewind (4 layers) corresponding to the size of your sub at page 1 (1st post) of this thread.

Napabayaan kasi hindi nagagamit. Nasira na ung cone ng tweeter, sayang sir ang layo ko na sa inyo.
Ganda pa naman ng tunog ng speaker na ito.
Would have love to have it service by you again.

Sir Benedict, can you repair audioengine a5 speakers? Mine has an annoying hiss/hum that is very audible. Nakakaasar kapag low volumes. Kahit high volume rinig pa rin minsan eh. Ano kaya problem nito? Thanks!

Yes we can test it.  But before dropping it to our place, try checking the wires and plug you're using to your sub.
