sir pabili,
rewinding the voice coil will not change the sensitivity, lalo na you left us a reference. Usually three days. Will contact you immediately as soon as your speaker is ready for pick-up.
thanks
I got my repaired speakers yesterday, fired it side by side with my undamaged unit, listen for 2 hours trying to point a degradation in sound quality, dynamics, sensitivity (by ear). Tried lots of MYMP, Jheena, susan. It is a sigh of relief - my beloved precious full range alive again and well. Not a hint of unusual artifacts.
The speaker is probably '70s, high sensitivity. Per benedict, the cone is alittle bit crispy, can easily break. The surround is an integral part of the cone itself. The trace of repair can be noticed in the surround area. But the return of the cone cone-surround assembly is done with no trace of bad workmanship. An extra chemical provided on the surround area to re-strengthen the material after it has been lifted from the speaker basket. The spider mounting is also ok. An interview with benedict indicated that they are equipped to handle good voice coil repair as I have seen it done pictured in one of an internet site.
I invited my brother to try it with his busted drivers.
Hi Benedict, I will come back for the repair of the following (how much):
- 3 soundtrack 2inch cone tweeter (I will provide a reference unit as well)
- installation of surround for two 6.5inch drivers
- repair of an AKAI horn voice coil (I will provide reference driver for this as well)
- 2 RAMSA horn tweeter (no reference)
Thanks for the good service!
