yang mga flat cable na yan ay the "bus connectors" nung unang panahon, sikat sa mga mini compo yan.

the power may also come from the flat cable, you have to find out kung DC yan o AC. kung AC eh madali, kung DC you need to know ilang volts to power the motor, and probably yung mga wall wart eh pwede na. you can also make a decent power supply later on.

turntables simply need a L+ R+ and L- R- plus ground, so your aiwa tt can be salvaged to become a standalone tt.

Thanks sir arnoldc. maybe i can figure if its AC or DC but the L+ R+ and L- R-, i'm not sure. by the way is this the Left and Rigth channel.

also, how would I know if its MM or MC (tama ba yung term ko?). may effect ba ito? does it matter? kung ma convert ko na ba sya, can i hook it directly to any phono preamp?

thanks.

hey guys, na inspire naman ako sa thread niyo na revive yong mga old 80's LPs ko.I have a Sony PS-X35 turntable, it came with the sony hi fi system way back then.Sinong kilala niyo na nag refurbish ng defective turntables?I think that there is something wrong with the balance and motor, rotation? Not really knowledgeable about turntables. If repairing it is going to be affordable, I'd go for it like what jcob said cause I think you can get a 2nd hand turntable for around P3k.Right?Help. ;D Been dreaming about listening to my old LPs again.
It takes a little more persistence to get up and go the distance

How much would a turntable cost?  say the NAD 533, Project Debut or the Goldring GR1

sir, actually i'm willing to spent a little just to use the turntable. just want to know kung pwede ipa convert yung flat ribbon to rca or whatever. then i'll just buy a phono pre-amp maybe. pwede ba yung nandun sa phasetron? i saw one kasi there.

by the way wala ba talagang power source yung Turntable. yung flat ribbon lang kasi nakikita ko eh.

Hi Sir you've mentioned before that the said turntable is originaly from your Aiwa mini compo right? My question is: Gumagana pa ba mini compo mo? If yes try mo munang paandarin sa mini compo mo. Converting it to RCA requires some experience  technician or with knowledge with electronics. You need to open the unit & traced the circuit to do this.

Sir Odyopayl,

salamat sir sa reply. actually hindi na gumagana yung mini compo, sinubukan ko na ring baklasin yung compo hoping that there is a separate board or circuit for the phono stage. pero nung nabukasan ko isang buong board lang sya. naka direct-connect yung flat wire dun sa board. binukasan ko rin yung turntable and i saw a small PCB i'm not sure if this is the phono stage.

actually i'm an electronic engineer myself, kaya lang i have no idea how the phono stage cicuits looks like besides i have no time sa house to do some major modification doon sa TT. gusto ko sana ibenta kaya lang mukhang dapat yung bibili marunong para mapakinabangan. isa pa dami nagbebenta ng TT na mura.

i'm actually looking dun sa buy&sell section na TT, 2,700 lang. By the way, ok na ba yung price na 7k for a technics 1200MKII.

thanks.

Recently bought a Pioneer PL-112D (year 1977) turntable.

A good start to revisit our old LP's  since I don't have the budget for a new tt.

I bought this tt not working motor removed the stylus not perfectly seated on the cartridge the owner termed it as junk, but I managed to revived it and now in working condition.

I am learning new things regarding tt, especially on how to setup properly.

I also have to build a MM preamp (Breadboad prototype) just to listen my newly aqcuired tt,  hope to build a Tube Phono preamp soon.

Thanks.

I am listening to LP's which my uncle and dad owned I am rediscovering music which I took for granted when I was a kid.

Now it's LP hunting naman, then what you said "upgrade when have the molaah".
