Here are some pics of my new setup, medyo madilim lang, para di kita yung kalat ng wires, heheh

the Panasonic AE900 in action, @720p, 100 inch screen, 1100 lumens, 5:500 contrast ratio:

Taken via digicam so small movements cause some blurring, iba pa rin ang image when viewed with the naked eye.

No visible pixelation or banding even at close distances (2m). My viewing distance is at 3.5 m.

Note the glowing blue lights of the HK and the center speaker for screen proportion.

Unit is not calibrated yet, btw  :).

I used to drool a lot over those plasmas & DLP TV's. After this purchase I dont drool anymore. I am very happy with this baby and it cost me less and I have a bigger screen.

Funny thing also, when I was playing this, my 1 yr old son was actually watching (he usually doesnt care), it actually caught his attention! lol.

Iba nga talaga pag big screen. pag nanonood ako lately, my attention is on the details like the buttons, the pores of the skin, lol, sometimes di ako maka concentrate sa story. I didnt even notice those on my old 50 in TV, now its all so visible!.

Hehe, I will try to get a snap shot of HOFD in HVD 1080 res, I saw it in my friend's AE100 and it was already awesome. Nasa kanya pa yung HOFD HVD ko.

Thanks! I heard that the AE900 was cheaper there in Sing. Good luck on your Fincon! the ae900 is worth it!

I just took the pic w/o flash and put the settings to night mode. Problem is I dont have a tripod, so the pictures could have been better, even a slight movement from my pressing the button or any movement from the image can cause a little discrepancy with the picture.

The image is even much better when seen with the naked eye.  ;)

Sir,

may DVD na ba na kaya mag-produce ng 1080? or upconver lang ginamit?

Thanks

The DVD player I use has an upconversion feature through component. It came with free HVD disks that claim to be encoded in 1080i. I dont really know if its true, but it was very clear when I was watching them. Problem is they are in Chinese and can be bought only in China, titles are few too. HOFD is one of the titles. If I am correct, Terminator Extreme Ed is encoded in 1080 as well.

From Amazon: "Digitally mastered from a brand-new 1080p, 24sf high-definition digital telecine transfer for superior video and audio quality"

TERMINATOR 2 EXTREME ED Amazon link

Yan, napa-order tuloy ako ng di oras, hehe.

bro, I am working on it  :). I snapped a few pics last night and I had to get the angles where the tangle of cables could not be seen. Hirap pala. I want shots like those of Joey's, ang galing, pang pro!  :D

Malapit na!!!

I use 8m custom made Monster Video component Cable. I am already impressed with the picture quality.

Sana matapos na rin nga HT mo, para maka field trip naman kami dyan sa AC. ;D

Cool Idea, thanks for the offer. Will PM you soon!  ;). That way if I see that the difference between component and HDMI is not that big, I would not have the SARS anymore for a HDMI capable DVD player.

Thanks bro  :)

But is it true that 720p is better than 1080i? ???

YEs, 720p (progressive), even at lower resolution than 1080i (interlace) is better because the progressive scan function eliminates the (interlace) scan lines, for a more fluid picture.

1080i (interlace) has more lines. You can actually see the very tiny scan lines (I noticed on my 50 inch TV). But there are 1080 lines so it hardly visible unless you get very close to the screen.

At 3m or more distance these 2 are almost the same, but 720p is more fluid and has better picture. I think the whole progressive/ interlace concept was all explained extensively in Joe Kane's Digital Video Essentials DVD.

Well, here it is, the new setup with the Panasonic AE900. There was a lot of space freed when the Hitachi 50 inch TV was removed. It also resulted in a much better sound for audio since the whole back part was now empty and the acoustic panels can do their work.

I was also able to move the floorstanders closer to the wall and it was not a boomy as before.

I just love it, its roomier and is not as cramped up as before. A more relaxing atmosphere for audio listening.

The Sabre Crescendus A flexible AV rack with glass top. Kenwood THX amp.

Thanks for looking!  :)
See page 1 also if you havent looked there yet. Its the setup from 3 months ago w/ details.  :)

The wood walls behind the floorstanders are also constucted as bass traps to minimize boominess.

Piano finish Velodyne CHT-12r with separate circuit breaker path for the plug.

The white wire comes all the way from the projector at the back, installed through the ceiling. I wanted it to be connected to the AVRegulator so I had a wire ready for it.

Modified 1/27/06
I finally tidied up the cable management at the back.

No more cluttered wires at the floor.

Kenwood THX amp is now being used in my bedroom set up along with the LCD TV. Will post pics of the bedroom setup soon.

The location of the projector- on a shelf at the back, 4 meters away. The AE900 has a zoom function so it is very flexible when it comes to placement.

I had difficulty getting a good shot, my hands were shaky so here is the best I got  ::):

Special thanks to Dr. Eddie of L.A. for this wonderful housewarming gift!

Visible: plug for the projector that goes all the way to the AVRegulator, the component cable from ceiling and the ceiling receptacle for the 6th & 7th channel.

For those who noticed the 20 pcs of Incredibles (15 are R1) on the shelf in the old picture, they are gone now...with several happy kids (and 1 happy big guy from pinoydvd  ;)).  :)

Pardon the exposed wires, I still havent fixed the plate cover.  :)

Fixed!updated 1/27/06

don't you get distracted now by the displays on your gear and the LEDs? i had to reorient my room to move the equipment rack to the side, and even then i find myself taping over those bright LEDs.

more power! more upgrades!

Very nice sir. 1st class ang dating. The leds I believe are part of the appeal in my opinion. The only thing I would probably change would be the voltage regulator and replace it with a HTS monster power center to make it more attractive, but everything else looks absolutely great. Congrats sir and keep it up.
