Sir, need your advice if you won't mind. . After countless nights & days of itching to upgrade my B&K pre/pro, finally I found pre-owned Ref30 to complete the combo. Now, I feel another itch to set-up budget tube system. I started to browse on the net but, I'm hesitant to grab until I listen to them. Any opinion or suggestion of names and specs.

. I would recommend a separate setup for tube, but there is another way possible w/ hybrids. Its Tube CDp->tube preamp-> HT preamp/ receiver (set in bypass mode)--> power amp--> speakers. This way you can enjoy an all in one setup w/ tubes (I am a hybrid believer kasi). I have tried this on my yamaha rotel combo & the result was wonderful, may remote pa yung volume control.

As for the brand recommendations, since you mentioned you are from abroad, I really do not know what to recommend to you. The best is still to audition them there in your country, system matching is still the best key to enjoyment in this hobby. I have experienced a single change of IC could mess up your systems synergy w/ tubes. Your B&K's are already warm sounding so tubes will enhance that. Bagay na bagay.

I may change my LC to this:

w/ voltage indicator!

I tested a direct to LC connection w/ no voltage reg & I also segregated the pre-amp to the LC's pre-amp socket and the amp to the LC's AMP socket. The sound was so much better for me. So w/ this new model w/ voltage indicator, I can use direct connection to the LC & switch to voltage reg if there are fluctuations abounding at that listening session.

or maybe just change color, cuz I love the black aluminum finish. Choices choices!

Someone auditioned my hybrid integrated amp, and I never got it back :'( (got sold)

so now I will be trying BADA's class A amps

:

Class A to 30w. dual mono 200wpc class B

Bantay electric bill time

Top loading, 192khz upsampling Bada flagship CDp to match the amp above, also incoming.

I am also thinking of getting an HTPC for those Divx downloads. My friends have terraytes of em. I am so confused between getting a PC or a DViCo w/ H264 HD support. Best option is getting both (PC for bedroom, DViCo for HT room), but ang gastos! hehe.

What I did was I bought a pioneer dv-600s and a 2gb flash drive. and just put the movies I want on my flash drive. I believe pio supports any hard drive as long as its Fat32 format. So you use any portable laptop HD. PQ is good and video is sent to the TV through hdmi.

This alternative is more practical and its cheaper as pio plays all region dvd's, and you can use your flashdrive\enclosure for other stuff

Thanks sir, I tried this too on my Pio 600 but some HiDef files (probably H264 format) could not be read :'(.

A friend also told me that the flash drive's lifespan might be shortened if used in this manner.

Actually, I have an idea kung ano next upgrade ni Matzter and I think he has made a very wise decision.

Sorry, unless mag high end tayo, the Rotel is there to stay. My future HT is always visualized with the Rotels there. For keeps talaga power amps!
