Blu-Ray sought my opinion earlier thru text, so upon reading it i immediately called him up & asked him first what's really the situation & the problem (if there is any) since i honestly can not deduce the
real score just by reading from the posts above. am no techie guy kasi.
after the conversation w/
Blu, i then texted
Ricky about it & he requested me to post it here for
transparency, so i decided to post my sentiments/opinion w/ the end in view of helping the personalities involved resolve whatever differences they might have.
Blu told me that there seems to be some problem (compression to be more specific) w/ at least 4 titles that
aldrin has sent as part of his contribution. there was a confrontation between
Blu &
aldrin (of course not in person
) regarding this matter, whereby
aldrin insisted (according to
Blu) that the said titles are not compressed while
Blu told me that he has some scientific barometer (bit rate meter) that reads they are in fact compressed.
and if
only to prove his point that they are in fact compressed,
Blu posted above that he's going to make use of these materials that
aldrin had sent on the finished product, instead of sourcing these titles from other members. and this is where
Ricky came into the picture & argued w/
Blu that those compressed materials should not be used at all. tapos, sila naman ngayon ang nagkatampuhan.
first & foremost, i think every member will agree w/ me that the
paramount consideration in this project should be the quality of the finished product itself. the film clips/scenes that will comprise the finished product should be of the highest quality possible both in terms of video & audio resolutions, simply because this is a
DEMO DISC project to begin w/.
when i was allowed by
Blu to join this group & was able to talk to him for the first time, i emphasized to him that my participation is entirely at his mercy & discretion. i told him that it does not matter to me whether he would ask me to contribute 100 or more titles, or just 5, or that out of the titles that i contributed only so much will make it to the final product. for me, the bottom line is i am lucky to be a part of the group & of course, the success of this project.
so, i courteously requested
Blu during our conversation to reconsider his position on using these materials if they are in fact compressed, & pleaded him not to use them if they will
compromise in one way or another the quality of the finished product. i reminded
Blu that this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing (at least for me, baka di na nya ako pasalihin in the future
), & his name & reputation more than anyone else is at stake here. i suggested to
Blu that he can resolve his differences (if there is any) w/
aldrin w/out actually compromising the success of this project.
in fairness to
Blu, he easily relented naman & i then requested him to talk to
Ricky. am not sure though, if they have already spoken w/ each other before i posted this reply.
as far as
aldrin naman is concerned, i would give him the benefit of the doubt. if in fact the materials that he sent are compressed, i am sure that
aldrin is not aware of this,
much less did he intentionally make this compression. i am confident that he is just as concerned as everybody else about the success of the project. the compression might have been caused by some factors w/out his knowledge or simply beyond his control. don't ask me what factors could these be since am no techie guy as i've pointed out earlier.
ang haba na pala ng post na 'to, hehehe
........kidding aside, i just hope that
Blu-Ray,
aldrin &
Ricky can patch up whatever differences they may have against each other as soon as possible at baka lumala pa. sa tingin ko hindi naman masyadong malaki ito na di pwedeng mapag-usapan at maayos pa. yung sa akin nga sa "buy & sell" section naayos na namin eh, ito pa kaya
if there's any mistake in the narration above, please feel free to correct them.
peace to every member of the group
.......sana naman, each member will give his piece to help resolve these issues
