I think demo video clips should be taken from the beginning of the movie, not from the middle or end. That way, we avoid spoilers for the benefit of guests who have not yet seen the movie.

We're currently working on personalized demo disk, 12 participants. Sana matapos sa Dec 23. It contains almost 100 movie titles - almost 120 clips. Mejo mahirap pala gawin...lalu na pag ang hard disk mo maliit lang capacity. 160 Gig yung sa akin kaso kulang pa...need to back-up other titles with blank dvd-r kc karamihan sa titles hiram ko lang. Ang tagal pa naman magcopy from disk to hd hehehe. Pero happy pa rin kami...sulit ang pagod kc halos lahat ng magaganda para sa demo nakuha na namin.

Teka, you mean P10 lang isang blank DVD? baka naman 6 months lang di na gumana yan. Ok lang naman if we get better quality DVD for this.
At least for mine, sana ganito, kahit P40 pa isa.
I think paraho lang makukuha natin in terms of durability. I used etop from CDRKing. Maganda naman ang review nila dito. Ito nga yung nag out of stock na. Natry ko na yung branded, mas mahal, pero bumagsak pa rin ako sa etop. Naubos na nga stock ko eh. Dati 10 pack ang binili ko kc paubos na sa CDRKing kaya pinakyaw ko na, tapos naubos ko na kanina.
Lahat kc ng player compatible etop kahit plus or minus. Ganda ng quality. Sa mga nakakaalam nman sa etop, back-up nman po sa review ko para maconvince sila.
Magtatagal yan ng mga 20 years hehehe.
Fortis works fine here also! Another good cheap dvd-r is Etop priced at P12 out of stock na sa cdrking ;)
Are there available stocks? Bumili na din ako ng e-top and it's really good.
Bought some Fortis DVD-Rs to try out. Burned okay at 4X and it plays fine on my Pioneer players. Nero CD-DVD Speed curve isn't as smooth as the eTop and Top DVD-Rs though. And disc verification is pretty slow compared to other media.

Hindi kaya ng powers ko, bosing. Sa pagpili pa lang ng magandang clip, tapos editing and testing, matrabaho na. Kailangan pang mag Nero read test para walang skip or hang, para hindi naman mapahiya sa bisita. Hindi biro ang ginawa mong serbisyo bosing.
Mas OK siguro kung mang-hiram sila ng finished product mo, then recopy na lang kahit walang custom-made DVD cover.

Nadaan ako last tuesday sa Videocity...baka may sale. Magpaparent din pala sila ng DVD pero konti lang. Meron din mga Tagalog DVD. Mejo malikot din mata ko, nakita ko isang movie ni Diana Zubiri. Nakita ko sa likod ng cover nya may dts!!! Nagmember ako kaagad para mahiram ko...para malaman ko kung may dts talaga. Nang i-play ko sa bahay, dolby digital stereo lang pala. 192 kbps pa na sobrang baba compare sa standard ng dolby n more than 200kbps. Kaso yung dts logo na ginamit nila sa label. Original Video pa ha, pinagbibili nila ng mahal. Wala ba sila nilalabag dito? Kasi dapat may agreement and Movie Studio at and DTS Incorporated para gamitin ang logo?
Blu ray i think sila walang nilabag, PERO IKAW MERON!MERON!MERON! What kind of a person with MORALS will rent a DIANA ZUBIRI dvd in DTS pa kung hindi yung mga walang MORALS. pare magsisi ka sana sa ginawa mo,lagot ka sa mga MORALISTA ;D ;D ;D

Let me give some suggestions for the part 2.
Most of the clips in our project featured LFE & surround, music & visuals.
Basically most clips fell into very few categories:
Example for LFE it was mostly explosion & fight scenes.
For surrounds, it was mostly Jet plane scenes.
Visuals, mostly pixar films.
I recently found that while watching that what was lacking was a diversity for the LFE, sometimes watching a demo disk full of explosions can shake up your head after some time.
So I suggest:
Motor engine noise scenes from Fast & the Furious (DTS) & Torque
Train engine sound (From DD trailer & Polar Express)
Drums (Drum Line end sequence, astig!)
Visuals (Final Fantasy advent children! when its out)

Blu and matt, comment lang if i may, yung suggestions nyo regarding not to refer to the titles on the ultimate demo disc i feel medyo mahirap yon para sa kanila since most of the titles we used are the good ones na talaga and im quite sure na they would also want that same titles.Ngayon kung hindi nila pwede use that ano pa matitira sa project 2? ??? baka pwede naman lets give them a free hand on their project,hayaan muna natin sila to compile the scenes they want,probably the same titles but diff scenes naman and diff editing or arrangement.Oo ako gusto ko unique yung atin , na walang kagaya pero it would be unfair for this project kung very limited na yung titles and scenes that they can use. sorry dirty dozen ha, kasi i feel this is not our project anymore so we better not interfere ;D

Are you now considering to include the titles already present in Demo 1 and 2? Titles like Prince of Egypt, Super Speedway, Fast & the Furious, Matrix Revolution, Hotel California (Hell freezes over) are in Demo 2. While underworld is already in Demo 1 together with Matrix Revo.
aldrin, sama mo yung mga trailers in DTS or DD.

including the numbered spine for the fox ultimate releases Region 1 would be a great start. But I don't have tham all. Only a few. Sold most of them na ksi. Another thing is the japan releases (ultimate releases which is all hi bit rate.)

Hey guys let me just add this specially to bluray: Suggest ko lang to put at least 2 or 3 second fade-in and fade out on each track. This will surely make a big leap of difference from part 1.

Sensya na guys for those who were not included as blu mentioned.Actually When matz , blu and i had the first meeting almost all titles we want can be supplied by the three of us but we opted to accomodate other collectors to make this project really a success in terms of workmanship,movie contents and prestige of owning one Pero the more members to be included the harder it is for us to consolidate mainly bec of diff schedules we all have.But who knows,if anyone of you can still contribute titles not mentioned in the list above and its worth incorporating in this project maybe we can consider it

Another suggestion. It will be good too if we can include a special disc to measure picture quality, as an evaluation tool for our home HD display, DVD players & video processors.
Currently, I own the HQV Benchmark DVD (developed by Silicon Optix) which is used by many video techs to test video processing quality such as dnterlacing, motion correction, noise reduction, film cadence detection & detail enchancement.
I have both The Phantom of Opera (HK) & A Chinese Tall Story (Avant-Garde edition) (HK). Both DVDs have DTS96/24 :)pchin,
Also Casshern Ultimate Edition DTS-ES (JAP)
How about The Myth (Limited Avant-Garde Collector's Edition)? The film comes in 1536 kbps DTS I'm not sure what's the difference as compared to the ordinary DTS ???

Another suggestion is include both Dolby 5.1 and dts 5.1 in one. Kasi all of japan ultimate editions and R1 collectors edition numbered spine have both dd & dts. Pero I think it will need a lot of space.

1. I agree sir Danrd. I have already told this to bluray long ago. Too much explosions would make one dizzy. I should know... I have played the ultimate demo disk like 30 times already (including the evaluation process).
2. Oo nga, foreplay muna bago climax Grin. Di pa nag aasawa si bluray so di pa nya gaano kabisado yan, di bale turuan natin.

Maybe to spread the blessing of being able to get into that list and in return to be entitled copy of the DEMO DISCS may I suggest to the Executive Board to limit only to ONE (1) disc to qualify.
How is this applied?
All interested will just have to submit the list of DVDs willing to contribute (at least 5), the Executive Board will evaluate and if one of the disc qualifies to be included in the list, then the owner will be IN. Other titles should come from other applying contributors. This way more will land on the list.
But needing only one title (out of 5) to qualify? that might be too lax a criteria to follow specially considering there are only 10 slots. I dont think the project would succeed with such a criteria. Selections would be very limited.

Sa mga nag offer sa PM, marami kayo kaso magkakapareho ng titles...nagkakatalo lang sa concerts. Wala samaan ng loob mga sir ha...kung maari ko lang isama kayo ginawa ko na. The problem is, most of the titles you mentioned on PM are duplicate with those offered by those members confirmed earlier through phone and text messages. Sorry for not replying to your PM because di ko na rin maharap and inaayos ko yung listing ng mga titles na offered.
What i mean here is: All the titles i put on my list and submit may all qualify to be in the demo, but because only one qualifying disc/title is required for an applicant, then other titles can be taken from the list of other applicants. Now if all the titles i submitted do not qualify to be included in the DEMO, then better luck next time. ;D

Yes blu,maybe you can let us know which titles are assigned to whom.Sabi mo kasi na esi,aldrin,classicman and compaq already contributed a lot of titles eh baka wala na matira sa iba and also once we have the list of titles we can start with the elimination of the ones we dont really need. :)As it is you're already short on memory space sa pc mo to make back-up of these submitted movies :(.Mga bros baka you have an external memory drive that you can land to bluray for our project bec its quite expensive to use 2pcs dvdrw per movie for back-up purposes :-[

MAtZTER, the High Definition demos as reference materials is an excellent idea but the current DVD format can accomodate up to 480p lang... :-[

No. We cannot accommodate your request sir...sorry. This is a personalized dvd...and should not use by anyone except the owner. The name of participant or the owner is encoded on each disk and can be seen on each menu of his copy. Nag-iingat lang kami kc baka ma-copy ng iba...pag na-copy...lagot ang owner ng dvd...kakalat sa quiapo yung pangalan nya. Di naman namin sinasabing kokopyahin nyo pero as I said...nag-iingat lang. also, i just watched Duel (spielberg) - DTS and the many parts are amazing... when the camera glides beneath the bridge and during those numerous overtake scenes? prob is magkalayo sila. do we have a solution?

Redge master na ni blu ray yung FLAWLESS EDITING :o ;D yung zathura nga one continuous scene yung 3 separate tracks ha ha ha. just remember what track and minutes reading kasi medyo suplado si blu lately ayaw panoorin yung movie esp kung hindi ala MALENA type ;D

I watched Yanni Live at the Acropolis and I have the chapters for the demo. Its great for the demo since they use a lot of instruments (and surrounds) and full orchestra pa. Pang pa-HYPER pa mga music ni Yanni.
Also watched Shadowless Sword last night (Korean DD). Pwede natin dagdag sa DD, sagana sa surrounds to.
Cge isama natin. Identify mo nalang sir yung song for Yani and chapter for Shadowless sword. 8)

Blu, your concept/idea of the packaging is simply brilliant, this will (hands down) be my most treasured collection in this hobby :o........i suggest though that you make some refinements on the art design in coordination w/ redge, ricky & master MAtZ especially on the 6 discs, dapat siguro each disc should be designed to appropriately suit their individual contents ;)........& sana gawin nyong talagang matibay yung digipak & slip case coz i foresee that it will be frequently used & viewed by all members of this project 8)
I know that this is for a very select group of contributors but was wondering if you guys would even release it for some other folks that are very much interested in getting them for a fee and then donate the fee to a charitable cause...

Hello guys,
May I suggest an alternative to a glue or something like it for the plastic dvd case. I have had experience on 3M industrial strength double adhesive tape. Its so thin and REALLY tough that it holds 12 X 4 x 1/2 inch glass sign stuck on high tempered glass in our clinics. Its been there since 2000 without replacement. Its so thin we could cut it and stick it to the periphery/sides of the plastic dvd cases similar to the ones posted, that it would not be obvious compared to some releases like Xmen box set. I bought mine at True value and ace hardware. Just my 2 cents. ;D
Am ok with oursourcing the layout and art design.
Anyone (Pinoydvd member) here in (professional) graphics design AND is willing to give a big discount for this project? 8)

Hi Munskie, please submit your contribution to me anytime this week or next week pag may time ka. Please exclude animusic v1 and 2. We will be using Aldrin's title nalang. Thanks.no problem Blu...as soon as I get the package, special trip ko ito. para lang sabay sabay na. Very strict talaga quality control ng brothers matt, ricky and blu. But I think its really essential naman para na rin sa ikagaganda ng project na ito. And of course, in all projects, there will be clashing opinions, but lets take it all in stride.

To sir Al, you compressed some of your titles…di ko alam dahilan mo kung bakit ganun ang ginawa mo (Aware ka naman na may QC tayo). Yung iba okay naman kasi double disk ang ginawa mo. Sa 4 titles, if you're aware, bakit single disk lang…so dapat nagtaka ka na. Dahil dito sir, nadelay tayo ng ilang week. Kasama na yung problem ko sa PO makuha lang, Lakas loob na kinuha sa custom mga bawal na package, hinarap mga buwaya doon mag-isa ko lang, LQ namin ni ricky hehehe, etc. Sa akin okay na sir yun, nakaraan na. Pero yun nga lang di ko maibibigay sayo yung surprise item. Complete 6-disk pa rin makukuha mo.

guys, we reviewed two movies last night...Reign of Fire and V for Vendetta in ricky's Place. Reign of Fire was shot down...coz scene is pretty long to develop, and effects are far in between. Yung V mukhang papasa sa Dolby Digital. It aint gory but has so much blood splashing. But the scene overall is quite good...coz confrontation scene sya with nice moves and effects ala matrix.
Blu, keep mo na muna titles ko...the Matrix 1 and V are in ricky's care na. :) :)

Sir successful viewing kahapon. Compute ko muna yung score ng mga movies...Nag rate kasi kami kahapon...each movie. Final evaluation na yun. PM ko mamaya yung mga pumasok.

Duh... Poncho's Pilates! Washing your hands eh? As I can recall, ang dami mong ni dissapprove na movies, including requests ng fellow members (demo project 1 pa lang), tapos kami na lang ni Blu ngayon? ;D
I dont want a repeat of Demo 1 kasi wherein you just keep skipping the so-so scenes (some requested by participants) that were included out of "pakisama", so we are strict with the choice of scenes. If we were to fill the project with scenes bec. of "pakisama" or politics, you might not like the end result (or question it).
Even I have requested scenes that were not approved by the majority (like Domino) and even layouts that Blu didnt accept, but I just accepted it like a good sport. At least I know we are all doing our jobs objectively. (its by democratic votation, this is not "Matz's Demo Disk", like I read in a previous post.) ;)

Matt I know what you mean re the lenghty inserts, but keep in mind that this is a collectors limited special ultimate mega 7-disc directors producers and probably the FINAL edition ;D so i support and agree kay blu ;) Anyways sya naman yung talagang naghihirap dito sa project,its his BABY,considering he says hi to girls eh pagbigyan na natin ;D. Sa tingin ko kaya before Xmas. May isa lang problem, failed yung isang dvd-9. post ko nlang yung screenshot pag tapos na lahat. Ang sama pa, mukhang ayaw na magwrite ng dvd-9 writer ko kc ginagawa ko yung isa ulit after ng failed, ayaw na nya mag-burn. Pero sa dvd-5 okay pa naman. Successful yung 6pcs dvd-9. remaining 6 nalang problem natin. As of now, 40disk na natapos and yung boxes, malapit na din. 8)

Munskie can bring the HD DVD & HDMI. I have a coax ready at the rear, near the PJ, for short HDMI cable runs. But the sound wont be as good though.if someone can bring a long hdmi cable (at least 25ft?) para makapag 5.1 analog tayo...try rin natin Dolby TrueHD.....
BTW sticker paper Grade A super quality ang gagamitin sa lahat ng covers, tray covers. Mas mahal pa sa photo paper. Kung namamahalan kayo sa photo paper...imagine nyo nalang. Sa ikagaganda lang.ok lang sa akin sir... :)

i know the demo disks are not for sale. but can i borrow someone's copy? pls.. :)
There is, under the condition that:
1.) whoever lends it has to be there the whole time.
2.) The borrower has to entertain the lender, feed him 3 wonderful meals a day (alchohol is optional);
3.) and provide bed space (no sofas please) if the disks are going to be borrowed overnight. :D
4.) borrower has to provide the lender transportation to & from his house.

guys para walang away dapat naman talaga binibigay ng free mga demo disc na yan eh. kahit pinaghirapan nyo but you dont share it to the world? sayang naman mga masterpieces nyo.

What i suggest eh gumawa na lang ng concise version (or demo demo version ... hehehe) which can freely distributed. Taposthey have the full set.

I really wanted to test it sana on my HT. How about bringing any of you to my home then test the DVDs in my place? Kaya lang it will take your time and I live on Las Pinas pa.
So I guess giving my word that I won't copy it isn't enough huh? Oh well, I guess trust is hard to come by these days... I hope some of us may realize one day that not all people we meet have bad intentions. Anyway, I respect your right to property. Good luck to the rest of your projects.

Alam mo pare...pera yung pinag-ipunan na sinasabi mo although pinagpaguran din sa pag-ipon. Yung pagod namin dito di mabibili ng PERA Mo. Yung iPod na sinasabi mo may equivalent value, ito wala. Ang hirap sa ating pinoy puro salita, puro bulaklak ng dila.

Hi guys, you can do it yourselves naman eh actually.
Here is a step by step procedure:
1.) Look for Aragorn 10 of pinoyex or whoever he is in pdvd
2.) ask him to learn basic DVD editing skills (xx hrs)
3.) Let him organize a group of orig. DVD collectors who have HT's (xxx hrs)
4.) Let him meet all of these busy people here & there (whoa! hrs & daysss) to GET the DVD's, one of the hardest parts. Lemme see his face after this part ;D
5.) Compile & edit his demo DVD (xxx hrs & days)
6.) Burn a copy of his compilation for approval to a QC officer w/ a good HT (XXX hrs)
7.) Go to the QC officer's place to take note on what to delete & retain, plus improvements.
8.) work on the improvements (xxx hrs)
9.) DO steps 5-8 over & over until satisfaction, debates + arguments included (sometimes heated) (xxx hrs + stress)
10.) Coordinate w/ those doing DVD covers & packaging (hrs & days)
11.) Bring out his money to buy X number of DVD's for each participant & abono for the packaging too (over over Php20k, still reading arogant_10? ;D)
12.) Burn the DVD's for all participants (xxx hrs, in Bluray's case :o hrs of puyat cuz every disk was labeled w/ the participants name... just imagine re processing 7 disks for 12 people... :o )
13.) Finalize everything & meet everyone to give em their copy after several months of work, stress, puyat etc.
Then for his happiness, aragorn 10 can mass produce & lend his work to everyone in pinoydvd. Siya naman may "SAY" kasi siya gumawa lahat. ;)
Para masaya lahat! Walang galit! hahaha :D

Question lang pow sa Part II ng project. Can't remember kung sino sino mga member. Do you allow copying ba? bakit kami lang affected. Back-up naman kau jan.Full support rin ako sa policy mo Blu. :) I hope some guys here would acknowledge and understand that. Di rin namin pinagdadamot ito, as per rules, pwede ma-preview, as long as the copy's owner can come too. I hope sense and reason prevails here.
Now guys you now know how people feel if their intellectual property rights are violated. its not just the actual cost but all other matters or the nitty gritty involved in the production. ;)Yup that's why we dont want to make many copies of it in the first place ;) Im sure yung downloaded files nyo na hindi ipinagdamot ng iba ay may consent from their respective studios ;) ::) ;D
... anyway ive decided to share with you all the details to download the dvd demo discs...

i'm in favor of blu's policy, he has all the rights, he owned it, pinaghirapan nya yun e... actually hindi naman nila pinagdadamot for they are willing to lend it naman sa mga members as long as di maka-copy yung mga demo discs... and i don't see any problems with that...
To tell you honestly my fellow members, nung una medyo naisip ko, ang dadamot naman ng mga taong 'to kasi ang thinking ko nun is... this is PinoyDVD where everyone is sharing almost everything, talents, gears, wisdom, etc... di po ba? pero habang sinusundan ko ang thread na 'to, makikita naman natin yung hirap nila blu dun sa project, when i read the steps on how to make the demo disc nga (posted by blu), ayan dun pa lang di na sila nagdamot kasi tinuruan pa tayo... Mahirap pala gumawa nun, mahal plus the time and effort na uubusin, di ba? kaya naiintindihan ko na sila ngayon, ako man lumagay sa lugar nila malamang di lang yun ang mga conditions ko, hehehe ;D
IMO wala talaga dapat pagtalunan dito ;) ;) ;)
wish ko rin makita kung gano kaganda yung mga demo disc, curious lang po, hehehe sana one time matikman naman sya ng setup ko kahit sandali lang, hehehe ;) ;) ;)

Is it because Blu will not be compensated for his efforts and expenses?
Or is it because the group is concerned about copyright issues?
I was formerly under the impression that the reason was respect for the Intellectual Property Code, specifically under Sec. 187 thereof, which states:
"... the private reproduction of a published work in a single copy, where the reproduction is made by a natural person exclusively for research and private study, shall be permitted, without the authorization of the owner of copyright in the work"

Atty, I believe its first & foremost for the copyright issues, if you look back at the posts, it becomes more apparent that some people do not give a d*mn about copyright (under the guise of borrowing but the owner cant be there), thus some of the comments switched to appeal to readers about the efforts of Blu & his right to declare his policy.
ps. i don't want the credit for this i just want to prove that there are guys out their who are willing to share their work not like some people i know :)
