Finally, I was able to get it to work.  Was tempted to change some other settings, but decided not to. Baka magkamali at magloko pa eh.

my eyes didn't like it (dynamic dimming off)...   

whenever dark yung backround ng scenes, sobrang bright lumalabas ng picture.....

is it just me?

for interested buyers, intay lang until end of the month. i think samsung will come out with a new promo next month as told by most salesmen. di ko lang sure if it's a better promo than the one they have now.

I was in Bangkok last week and saw a lot of LCD TVs at the malls... was surprised and dismayed to see that the model being sold here for P69,000 is being sold there for only P48,000 (baht to peso) and the models being sold here for P99,000 are just P75,000 there... 

Even the PS3 would come out to be about P30,000++... PS2s are already being sold for just P6,000 converted with free games...

Malaysia is selling equally cheaper than our local stores. One time I saw a SONY projection 42" HDTV cost 180k locally & only about 120k in Malaysia

wala ng freebie yun. marketing strategy na lang naman dito yung mga freebies eh para they can sell their slow-moving products. coz if yout take out the freebies, most likely the prices compared to other countries is almost the same lang. take for instance the lowest priced model of samsung 32 inch. they are selling it at 79k with a free 21 inch tv. if you take out the freebie tv, nasa 65k lang siguro dapat siya or even less. so if you think about it, the tv is not really a giveaway. it's really bundled with the price just so they can sell all the excess inventory of these crt tvs. siguro, once they have reached a minimum level of inventory of these crt tvs, they can lower the prices of the lcd tvs.
realistically, the base model 32 inch lcd tvs should have a price range of around 50-60k only at this time considering in the US, their prices are down to around 40k when converted to peso. 37 inch tvs in the US are around 60k only while in the malls here, they sell it at around 100-120k. if you consider custom taxes, di naman siguro dapat doble yung prices ng lcds dito. it should only be at least 20% more expensive here. 
i hope in a few months time, the prices of lcds here will be more competitive so more people can afford to purchase them. if you're working for those companies producing lcd tvs, i agree that it's a good marketing strategy to do bundling but in the long run, they should stop it and just sell units at a realistic price. im sure more people will jump on the lcd bandwagon and they will realize more revenue if this happens.
excuse my ranting coz im just one of those people who got 'victimized' by this deceiving marketing ploy.

sorry man, didn't ask... pero grabe yung PS3! the store clerks showed me a fighting game... super linaw! Made me salivate... At another shop I saw a demo of a racing game... the cars lookd almost real!

A 21" TV is about P9,000.  P79,000 less P9,0000 is P70,000.  That's still a rip-off to me.  Mahal na nga yung LCD, pipilitin ka pang bumili ng 21" TV.  Sobra naman...

I don't get it.

Ang alam ko, ang Samsung-Sony LCD plant ay nasa Tangjung, South Korea, hindi sa U.S.  If it was exported to the U.S., then U.S. customs also collected duties on the item, di ba?  If exported from Korea to the Philippines, then wala nang U.S. duties, Philippine duties na lang. 

And how about shipping costs?  Di ba mas malapit ang biyahe from Korea to Philippines vs. from Korea to U.S.?  E di dapat mas mura pa nga dito?

Sa Pilipinas, bakit kaya ayaw nila ibenta ang LCD TV lang ng walang "freebie"?  May cartel ba sila at ito na yung napagkasunduan nila?

LCD prices are lower abroad, but manufacturers are being investigated there for overpricing.  LCD prices are much higher in the Philippines, yet they're not being investigated here. ...  Go figure.

Sir, you can only enable PIP using the FF connections

I was in ambassador virramall and  samsung  just lowered their prices. What I saw is just the 32 R71 and the 40 R71, The 32 is down to 89,900 with a lot of freebies, 0 interest, 12 months. The 40 inch is down to 164 thousand, with free slim fit tv and home theater ata, 0 interest 12 months, Prices might come down this year..Good news..

the new promo for feb is out. apparently, i was dissapointed since they are still using their bundling strategy up to now. for the 40  inch s71, nasa 150k na lang from the 164k price before but the freebie is now only a 29 inch slimfit compared the 20 inch lcd tv before. so more or less, ganun din. 150k for a 40 inch tv is still very expensive. wala pa ata 80k sa US mga ganung size na lcd.

the price of the 32r71 went down by 10k but the s71 still remained at 79k. still quite expensive considering these models can be had at only 40k in the US. 

the best deals out there are those of sharp whose 32 inch is only 69k and 37 inch is only 95k. but then, there's been a lot of backlash of the service of sharp here in the philippines.

my personal choice would be the toshiba lcds if you will buy it from shops like listening room or the home theater. prices are realistic and service is quite okay.

i cant remember if they have the 26 inch one but alam ko konti lang difference sa price nun sa 32. if i were you, go for the 32 inch. bitin ang 26 and the price difference isn't so big. my first lcd was a 26 inch samsung and i find it quite small. the only reason i bought it was those 32 inchers were still at the 100k price range during that time.

listening in style can give it at 6 months zero interest so mura pa rin at 63k.
