sir classicman,  i guess this is a good boxset if you have not purchased these titles before... i dont consider this set one of the best though.

got the following with DTS audio encoding:
The Mummy Ultimate Edition - R1
The Mummy Returns - R2 Japanese Release
Scorpion King - R2 Japanese Release

other than the cardboard  box.. no special features or item added/included in this boxset..  :(

i think the Mummy Legends box set does not only give us a cool & collectible box (am a sucker for box sets kasi), but all the three (3) movies are now being released with dts audio tracks unlike before... )

Yes I agree classicman, exactly as what you have explained (this also makes me a sucker for box sets then ;D) esp those of us that have not collected all the 3 movies or perhaps so far only collected one movie, etc. Whether this boxset is selling well in the market or not, whether it includes any special items....some of us still consider this a good boxset tho it's definitely not the best available boxsets. It's more like a collectible set. Anyway, I'm dying to get this boxset in order to complete the movies collection. Hehe ;D ;D

oh well , i respect your opinion but i still think this set should be more appropriately placed in the Some Collectible and LE R3's where it was first posted by ymeeh.. and not in the best boxset thread.

but i cant wait for the pix.. post it when your set arrives...

:)

It could be either a boxset or a collectible set depending on one's point of view & difinition.  ;) It's a boxset since it has 3 movies compiled (it does comes in a box). On the other hand, as you mentioned there's no special items included in this boxset (hence not the best boxset but it is still nevertheless a boxset) except the nice cardboard box with some interesting pix (thus qualifying it for a collectible set as well). Well, for me it's a little of both & it is still a nice collectible box set.

Likewise, your posted The Apocalypse Now Redux DVD in a Bottle, literally speaking is just a collectible item & not a boxset since it has only one movie, not more than one disc, has no special gifts, items, photos, etc except it comes in a unique bottle that houses the disc. ;D

Sure no worry hemisphere1234, will post some pix if I got my set  ;)

a message from one collector to another..

regarding  apocalypse, the set is a gift and the way i see it.. is a product of creativity and classic taste...  i believe you cant find the set in any Astro or liquor store.  novelty and rarity play a tricky part there..

also, IMHO, when you say "the" best, there's a unique factor, characteristic, or sensibility that goes with it..

mr. pchin..  feel free to post. if Mummy Boxset for you is one of the best boxset in your collection, i completely understand and support you all the way...  i wont argue with history. on a lighter side,  it feels good (or "best") knowing that im not the only one interested in these limited and collectible "boxsets".  salamat naman...

hehehe..   ;D
 ;)

Got my copy today! It's a real beauty! With teh presentation case, posters, photo album, etc...the high price is justified. Now I've to eat instant noodle for the next few mths  :P Unfortunately, the Calendar 2005 isn't included. Perhaps this is meant for pre-order only or while stock last....   :'(  Too bad that my name isn't engraved. Is this also meant for pre-order lang?  :-[

congrats to you... your Infernal Affairs Boxset was delivered in a jiffy. mine is still in its processing stage. for 4 days now.   :( i have a hunch it's either out of stock or they're engraving my sweet name on the plate.  ::)

not sure pchin, if the calendar, poster and engraving service are for preorders only. but now, that you mentioned, i  just placed an email and reiterated my request for the additional items. hope mine would be shipped soon, all add ons intact. not keeping my hopes too high though..   :D

too overwhelming, so many dvds in just one month.. still waiting for my Old BOY UE and other R1 releases..  guess i have to eat noodles too in the next coming weeks..

but im not complaining..  ::)

hemisphere1234, hope your order will have better luck than mine... ;) Yeah I got it within 4 days but at the expense of the Calendar. Yesterday, I have emailed them rgd the calendar. Awaiting their reply now & hopefully stock still available. Perhaps I shud email them again using the sample leter provided by you.

Haha maybe we shud open an "Instand DVD Noodle Club". All PinoyDVD members entittle to 50% OFF! Enough na for me...no more DVDs for the time being to give some breathing space for my plastic cards to recuperate... ;D

Tnx for the info/pix provided for Gangs of New York - French Boxset. Another tempting collection. How much is it? R u getting it?
