Onkyo 705 owners please help me. I'm using ps3 to play games and watch blu-rays using blu-ray (HDMI). What I want to do is watch movies off my projector (HDMI) and play games through my LCD TV (component). can it work? I know the 705 only has one hdmi out, but can I choose to output to component instead if I'm playing games?

Can't wait 6 months.. By then I'm already looking for a Full-HD LCD or Plasma TV to complete my Full-HD HT Setup..

i would assume yes, since you can assoicate specific "outs" to each of the modes of your SR705... and i remember this functionality being a part of the THX specification.(ie. an input connector of 1 type must be matched by an output of the same type.)

Mas mura after 6 months.. hehehe.. lalabas na OLED TVs so bagsak naman presyo LCD/Plasma TVs..

705 is around 49k at Theater Works Trinoma. Gold only but mas silverish yung gold nya. di sya gold na gold

Yep. tempting nga, since the gold I dislike (personal choice lang naman) is the yellowish one.

this one isnt too yellowish.

I even thought it was silver at first.

as matzer said 49k for local models (interestingly.. the same price as what i bought abroad with shipping).

unfortunately, my ears arent that sensitive enough and my speakers not the high-end enough to heardifference of pure direct mode.. but i think this is because the other modes are already pretty good!!

my only current gripes is related to LFE performance.. but this more probably due to poor sources(mp3's and fake audio cd's) + poor sub woofer placement + no room treatment + no power conditioner.

I disagree! your speakers are quite good and you are one of those who have IMO, cleverly done correct matching w/ a mid level speaker & a mid level receiver! Siguro they are all good nga naman kasi.
