Linear PCM talaga recommended na setting esp. for uncompressed format.

Try to press the select button while watching and it will display at the upper right corner of your panel whether its a truehd or dts hd format.

I prefer to leave it at lpcm also since I dont notice any differrence in audio quality and 5.1 din naman ang labas as opposed to some who say that setting some multi-channel games to lpcm will only produce stereo sound. Well, I have to experience one siguro.

nakita ko na rin..i played iron man..dolby trueHD pag press select button..
Pati uncompressed 5.1 sa black hawk down..lumabas sa ps3 linear pcm 5.1..
I'll stick with linear pcm settings din..thanks much sir..

well, imho, i think ok na din ang ps3 as a bd player, just a couple of weeks ago i was contemplating if i should swap it for a stand alone bd, then i realized the advantages of having the ps3 as a bd player. true na wala siya led panel to see whats going on other than to press select on the bd remote to check the display/ stats, pero the wifi capability is something stand alone bd's dont offer (correct me if im wrong) and thats a big plus for me since we're on a wireless setup at home, un, basically thats it lang for me, and it doubles pa as a console when you want to release some of that pent up anger after going home from work, hehehe

so far, so good, so im sticking to my ps3 until a stand alone bd that really is something else comes up and tempts me

There are several variations of the 'PS3 slim' circulating the Internet. No announcement from Sony though. And they're probably just rumours. A slimmer PS3 won't really help. A price cut will.

Yes +1. If SONY is really cutting down its size & probably some parts (e.g. lower memory, etc)...hopefully the consumers will get both slimer/sexy body & cheaper price.

as far as i know, around 18k-20k for asian ps3 80gb sa eyo in gh...

PS3 as a blu-ray player is the cheapest according to most sites.

You can play High Def Games and watch High Def Movies.

Plus you can surf the internet.

mga bro's ask lang ako question on PS3 as a blu-ray movie player. mine is NTSC-asian version.

i bought a couple of sealed BD's but it wont play on my PS3 unit.

first time ko lang i try mag play ng blu-ray movie dito.

lumalabas lang yung title den parang hang na sya.

try tinkering with the settings of the PS3 bro. try to play a standard DVD first. if your unit is asian....try to play a R3 dvd.

Even after the firmware updated, it is still required to download it. Will give it a try.
