Question: Has anybody seen The West Wing Season Seven at any Astroplus branch already? It's available at pinoydvd.biz but I haven't seen it at some Astro branches I've been to..

PinoyDVD.biz auto shift coming soon to new releases on it's tentative release date.  If it just been released and its out of stock, chances are, it's been delayed, and not yet released...

Sorry about that. Yes, Sopranos season 6 remains unavailable.  We're still trying to get a more firm date from Warner on their upcoming releases.  Thanks for the earlier clarification techdude.

Php 475 (Budget Edition):

Facing the Giants

I'm beginning to worry, since two consecutive Magnavision releases have been spotted in DVD5 Budget Edition only, without the imported DVD9 counterpart anywhere in sight. Does this mean that techdude's prediction that the company may forego DVD9s in favor of the more affordable local DVD5s has come true???

I hope not.  :-[

Both titles are in my wish list pa naman... let's hope I'm wrong. :)    Whatever, let's boycott these DVD5 lest they think there's a demand for these cheaper but sometimes  even worse than pirated quality DVDs.  Remember an 895 disc will have a resell value of a few hundred, but a DVD5 has ZERO resell value.

Ang bilis ng price reduction sa Ice Age 2.   Talo na mnaman ako ng 300. Reason why I now have second thought before buying new releases.

Yup. After the price reductions to 299 began to happen in under three months, I completely stopped buying VIVA Fox titles at 750/900, even if they're films I really like.

Now with an initial selling price of 550 (as they've started with their Disney titles - hopefully also Fox, soon?), and with the price drop to apparently only 450, I'll probably start buying full price again. It's not as painful to lose 100 bucks for a good title.

crazyguyallert, if you're looking for the Jaws discussions, they were moved here.

Mirrormask  Php 475, Magnavision's leaflet had it slated for February release, so a DVD9 version might pop up then...
__________

Lost - The Complete Second Season Php 3000
__________

The Sound Of Music: Special Edition Php 450
I saw a 2002 copyright date, so this is the older inferior transfer (compared to the 40th Anniversary Edition)?
__________

Also seen but no DVD art available at this time (or I'm too lazy to look for them on the net ;) )

Vampire Bats TV Movie (Lucy Lawless et al)   Php 895/475

KicsFlix  (Children stories for toddlers - Php 250@)

restock of Braveheart Php 450, as reported by patrick_bateman in the Viva sale thread.

Actually, there already IS a DVD9 version from, like, two years ago. Only the budget version is new.

It was in their February 2007 release calendar, so I assume it is new (locally).  And the R1 was released only last year (February 14, 2006, according to Amazon).  I didn't notice it in 2006 (locally), don't know about 2005, since I am not a DVD addict then... ;)

The Replacements  as in Keanu Reeves et al Football?  It's available at PinoyDVD.biz for only 275 (plus S&H).  Order it online.  You can pay via Credit card or Deposit to Banco De Oro.

https://www.pinoydvd.biz/product_info.php?products_id=506

While there, you might want to check other titles that you deemed hard-to-find.  There's lots of gems in there at great prices.   BTW, I am not connected with PinoyDVD.biz. ;)

Welcome aboard PinoyDVD, Mr. Rivera.

You assumed wrong, actually. allanmandy posted this title as an R3 release last March 2006, and I personally saw a copy at Astro SM Sta. Mesa around that time.

But I did see it being advertised in that release calendar you were talking about, so I can understand the confusion.  ;D

as far as I know, those priced at P475 are DVD5 and those at P895 are DVD9 for Magnavision releases.. For recent Viva releases, it's written at the back.. Warner releases, I believe, are all DVD9..

Php 895:

Judging from this cover art, this is not the unrated edition right?

Guess Viva's contract with MGM (which Sony had to honor) had expired.   Wonder if Magnavision will re-release all those new transfers of old James Bond films...
