Nag-iisip nga ako ng EB, not just to demo the new pj but hopefully to include some kind of educational element. Yung totoong educational. Hehe. 

Iniisip ko:

1) Discussion and demo on gray-scale calibration, using a spectrophotometer.

2) Discussion and demo of Audyssey room correction technology, using the Audyssey Pro kit and the SVS AS-EQ1 sub correction.

What do you think?

It's nearly impossible to do a good sub shootout. Subs are just too big and heavy but most important, to do a fair comparison, you need to calibrate each of them properly. It's just not possible to properly calibrate all of them at the same time.

Last year, we already did an EB for the Pilyo subs/amps and a separate EB for the SVS subs. Lots of people attended both EB's so they already have their private views on the differences.

Not easy to do shootouts/blind tests. We could do it for media players but it's difficult for a lot of other stuff like speakers and amps ... unless may idea ka ...

i fully agree with this statement. so i guess you guys just have to pm the guys who have attended both ebs to know their private views.

Went to streetsmart last saturday to see his new Sony VW85. Jaw dropping clarity and if my memory serves me right the biggest diffrence from his previous PJ is the brightness of the picture at hindi nagsuffer and black level. Inky black na pati yung black bars is as black as the borders ng screen. Even the menu is to die for, dami pwede iadjust, a real techies PJ.

Pagdating ko sa bahay tiningnan ko kagad PJ ko medyo yung colors and sharpness ang naging malayo ang diffrence at ang shadow detail  din medyo mas maganda ang sa VW85 kita talaga ang lukot at tupi ng mga itim na damit.

As always Mark's collection of wine ang to die for!! Muntik na ako hindi nakarating sa bahay dami pala namin nainom. Hometheater + very good wine = jackpot
