with permission from sir mark. here are some pics of the new set-up. did not get to do some serious shooting, me and sir mark went quickly to violate last night's alcohol ban...  


here is the new view of the ht, with the new height channels and the wide channels (jbl speakers) installed (formerly where the comfy seats were situated).


right side of the ht, notice the right surround, now with direct firing psb bookshelves instead of the former paradigm dipoles.


left side of the ht. same speaker configuration.


a closer look at the psb image bookshelves, this one also serves as the right back surround (the one near the toilet).


last but definitely not the least, the piece that started the 11.4 set-up. the denon 4810ci, audyssey dsx enabled.

what can i say, it sounds as good as it looks. coupled with the new pj. whole new audio-visual experience...

Dati, ang clearance from the new AVR to the upper shelf was 1". Nagtanggal na lang ako ng isang shelf. Now, the clearance is 5" and I added a notebook exhaust fan from CD-R King.

would toing in sir mark make the SQ better? the front wide is just 5 inches away from the wall

I just followed the recommendation of Audyssey -- all speakers toed in except for the surround speakers (iyong nasa sides).

The logic is that sq deteriorates as you are more off-axis to the speakers.

Also, if you run Audyssey MultEQ and the speakers are substantially off-axis, MultEQ may try to excessively raise the level of the tweeters, which will sound harsh.

Ideally, the heights are located 45 degrees from the centerline and then 45 degrees up.

the mains can also be 45 degrees right?  so it's possible in some layouts that both are in the same position, iba lang height?

so from a typical height of ears (39-42"), how high are the height surrounds (measured to tweeter height correct?)?

also, meron po ba kayong formula for me to use to figure out the degrees using triangular geometric formulas?
before i printed out the degrees and then used a string
