Not a Bar 5.1 but Bar 3.1. Nakapag demo ako ng 5.1 and I am very impressed. Kaya nya DTS and DD ang 3.1 DD lang eh. Sa 3.1 pa lang very happy na ako lalo na yan 5.1. I can say the 3.1 is better than Magnify Mini so getting the 5.1 is a huge leap from the Mini. My 3.1 is 3 year and counting.

Where can we get this, or the 3.1, locally?  Eyeing vs a Q600A or Q800A.

I recently got an LG SP8YA atmos, was on sale at Abensons @ P18k, its not that bad. but it cant go head to head w/ the Samsung Q900a which is more powerful especially with the ATMOS feel.

How much was the original price of the LG SP8YA and Samsung Q900a? are they head to head in price?

LG  was around P26k when newly out, the SAMSUNG Q900a I bought for P44k last year & its still at that range presently. The one w/ surrounds reaches a ridiculous price tag at the P70k range. if given a chance of accessibility & convenience of purchasing, I would go for the Nakamichi ShockKWafe pro.  HTH

Good day..

Are Bose Soundbar 300 or 600 okay for 3*3M living room? If possible kasi yung no need na ng Sub...

Also looking at JBL w/ detachable surround.

TIA.

auditioning is still the best way to check if the speakers are good for you ... good thing about Bose speakers is that you can audition those on their stores on a quiet space unlike the other brands wherein normally the units for testing are on an open loud environment of the mall/appliance center

Not a Sonos Arc but I managed to put up the 5.1 using the Playbar, Sub and two Symfonisk bookshelf speakers.   It sounds great for the size of the components and the star of the group is the Sub.  The addition of the Sub really elevated the performance of the Playbar since it doesn't need to reproduce sub 80hz signals anymore.  Malinis sya tumunog though it cannot go sub 30hz.

The system will be perfect for minimalistic homes or condo units since Sonos products are sleekly designed.  The performance has a ceiling though.  3 inch drivers will never replicate the fullness of 6.5 inch drivers.  The Sonos system seems to defy physics in terms of size to performance ratio but after sometime I got tired of listening to it din and sold the Playbar, Sub and the Symfonisk set.

Caveat:  Expensive to complete and for the money you can get a 5.1 for less which will sound even better.

I heard the Arc and the Sub sa Best Buy demo room.  Same limitations that I noticed from my system.  After the novelty wears off you will yearn for the fullness of conventional speakers but that's just me.  Most folks will be very happy with the performance of the Sonos system.

I have Beams on two of our bedrooms and a Playbar on a gazebo. It's amazing how much power the Beams put out for the size, and I'm very satisfied without a sub.

I mostly watch "art films" or dialogue-heavy movies, however, so for those of you who absolutely must have surround audio or reverberating sounds, my use case may differ from yours.

it's expensive, but the good thing about that Bose system is the modular upgrade, you can add the surround modules next (if needed), unlike other systems wherein you have to buy the whole package from the start

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but what is the usual power consumption or a mid range to high end soundbar (pref with surround speakers)? And how does it compare to the consumption of a regular 5.0 (no sub) setup? Thanks in advance.

Soundbars usually are powered by Class D Digital amps which are inherently frugal when it comes to power consumption.  Conventional Class A/B topology naman for AVR's (unless Class D like Pioneer Elite TOTL etc) so they consume more.

I auditioned the Jbl Bar 1000 in Megamall last week.  It was very impressive for the size.  I have long given up on home theater and jaut stuck to 2 channel audio but am now thinking of getting the Bar 1000.

The Samsung HW-Q800C can be bought for just under 20k these days (fb marketplace price).  This is much cheaper than the $699 price now in the US.  Reviews are generally good to excellent:

https://www.avforums.com/reviews/samsung-hw-q800c-dolby-atmos-soundbar-review.20962/

https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/samsung/hw-q800c

https://www.techradar.com/televisions/soundbars/samsung-hw-q800c-review

Description below care of AVForums:

"The Samsung HW-Q800C is a classic two-piece soundbar comprising a main multichannel speaker designed to sit under your TV, and a meaty-looking external bass speaker that connects wirelessly with the main soundbar.

The Q800C carries 11 speakers delivering a 5.1.2 channel count, where the ‘5’ bit refers to front centre, front left, front right, side left and side right channels, the ‘.1’ bit refers to the bass channel fed into the subwoofer, and the '.2' bit refers to two upfiring drivers designed to deliver Dolby Atmos height channel effects by reflecting them off your ceiling.

These channels have a total of 360W of power to play with, and it is possible to turn the Q800C into a surround sound system by adding an optional pair of SWA-9500S rear speakers."

Ito rin pinagaaralan ko recently kasi di ako natutuwa sa tv speakers kahit anong setting iset ko. Feeling ko rin na sobra naman kung gamitin ko pa receiver+speakers kung variety show at sports lang naman papanoorin.

I agree for music listening, but for movies and if the room is not that large, mas convenient yung soundbar - less expensive and clutter. di na kasi kailangan ng receiver

Marami na yata active speakers na may multiple inputs (and built-in DACs) para di na kailangan ang receiver?

If I had the luxury to do it again I wpuld look for active stereo speakers that have a sub out.

Soundbar for less clutter & modern soundbars nowadays sounds very good already with a real movie feel too. The receiver & individual speaker set up (especially ATMOS) is just more immersive, but costly & tedious too.
