musta na bro? :-)

you mean, attach an external SATA enclosure that has a DVD / HDDVD or BLURAY drive instead of a hard drive right?

Oks naman.  I mean attaching external dvd drive.  Just got my POPCORN A100 so still exploring this.

I was there 1st week Sept pero sobra busy never had a chance to meet any of the member.  Musta? Whats new?

Tried installing a dvd writer by using a USB to IDE converter. The PCH can read  any DATA  (MKV/MP3/divx/iso/pictures) disk from the drive without any hiccup, provided that the media and the reader is in perfect condition. Otherwise stuttering would occur

I was thinking of modding a PCH casing from a nonworking dvdplayer. Substituting the optical drive to a  IDE-DVD.

Kinabit ko sa pioneer xv-dv8 5 disc carousel yung popcorn ko. Automatic ang selection ng sound setup, either 5.1 DTS or dolby digital, kung wala eh nag-dedefault sya sa stereo mode. Digital Coax lang ang available connector nito kya i opted for the PCH A-100 which is  an older model. Kung me SPDIF HTIB mo, mas maganda ang  A-110.

Manage to connect external dvd drive and got detected using 2 usb connections. But showing 'BAD DISC REGION' for all the dvd titles regardless of region.

Any idea why?

Are those orig DVDs you were trying? These players as a whole don't support region decoding.

+1 i think if you want to play legal dvds on this machine it should be "region all" discs, and of course jack sparrow discs will play.

my PCH internal 750GB hdd has only 25% ''educational content'' as of todate :). if i wanted to have 'em filled up from a source, what is the best way to do?

1. bring the whole pch
2. remove the hdd and put in an hdd enclosure. but the format is not ntfs/fat32, will usb connection work when connected to a pc?
3. remove the hdd and connect it directly (internally) to a pc. this will be a tedious job that the educational content supplier may not want to go into this mess.

TIA sa suggestions ;)

pinakamabilis is no. 3? but medyo hassle lang..then download mo www.ifs-driver.org for windows to recognize the hard drive..if u want to transfer files thru the network pwede rin kaso mabagal..

number 1 na lang.. bahala na yung source mo.. hehe
pero kung pang movie watching lang yung PCH, why not format the disk to NTFS na lang? some other NMT's kasi pede directly isalpak yung NTFS formatted hdd.. for my case, i find the other feature un-useful.. pang MKV viewing lang talaga yung sakin.. :) :)

@ert & HD_movies,

sayang din naman ang 25% content ng hdd ko kung burahin lang. my other option is to source out or borrow a hdd for storing my existing files then format the hdd to ntfs. kaso lang i need to store the new files somewhere again coz i will have to reformat back the hdd to pch settings. hassle talaga no ;D another option is to buy a 1TB hdd but this will be an expensive route.
