Some Reading..i will send you the pdf files bro.

IPAKELL B-201 ( the tiled look )
SIMPLE ABSORBENT FACADE
Absorption Coefficient
Starting at 500 Hz the performance improves through the entire band
of frequencies and considerably improving at 250 Hz if it is suspended
with a lot of air space.
Thermal conductivity 0.033 Kcal/h.m °C
Weight 1.00 kg.
Thickness 3 mm
Size of tiles 1200 x 600 x 40 mm thick
Heat Resistance -30 °C to 75 °C
Fire Resistance self extinguishing
Absorbent Acoustic Tiles made of micro
porous fibers with geometric pattern that is both
functionally beautiful and absorbent. It appears to
have a natural textile cover finish.

The basic IPAKELL B-201 acoustic tile
coverings for ceilings and wall may be installed the
traditional way (as lay in tile on T runners) or by
fastening them on a piece of wood or directly on to
the wall or ceiling. It may be installed directly on
gypsum ceilings or walls, same on concrete or wood
walls. An air space can be added by adding wood
spacers. Absorption coefficient can increase if the air
space is filled with absorbent materials.

The level of absorption of the IPAKELL B-201 depends
upon the thickness of the gap or space between the facade (of
tile) and the wall or ceiling.

The Values for acoustic absorption coefficient of the
standard IPAKELL B-201 may be increased considerably by installing
absorbent material in between IPAKELL and wall or ceiling.

IPAKELL W ( the valley shaped) is constructed of
molded fiberglass 3-35 mm thick. The porousness of
the material as well as the shape of each panel work
together to optimize a high absorption.
The level of absorption is relative to the
space of air (vacuum of air) it creates. It allows for the
creation of 3 dimensional designs on walls and
ceilings with or without standard shapes.

Excellent at 125 Hz, improving its performance throughout the
entire band of frequencies, performing optimally at 63 Hz if it is
suspended forming an inner chamber of air.

They have lots pa...so best if you get in touch with the guy i pm'd to you.  ;D

Yep...heard a big improvement in Alvin's small room when I last visited as compared to the first time I was there.  With the acoustics, there are no more echos, high frequency ringing and you can now clearly hear separations of tones.  With acoustics, "you can a small room sound big" without being loud or noisy....if you get my drift.

Keep it up Alvin....I may have to consult you on the material sources.....this is one of the next thing that I have to work on.

Yep...am no expert at room acoustics but I did notice a difference also. I think that by the time I get done with this, i will be a lot happier with my current gears...mahirap kasi palit ng palit ng gears to get the sound you want when the room you're in is not getting the treatment it needs.

As one expert said, "50% of your sound system is your room". ;D ;D ;D

Update Aug 19, 2009

Finished my ceiling panels ( portion of the room itself ) and installed "temporary" fiberglass panels on my back wall while I wait to try out the more decorative and hopefully more absorptive panels from a supplier...still playing with possible combinations...ok lang since I am not rushing this thing.  ;D

I also DIY'd a center speaker shelf attached to my flat screen stand so that my center speaker's tweets are almost in line (within 20cm ) with my mains'. IMO, the center speaker's new location better matches the placement of my fronts and noticed improvement in overall ht sound.

very nice panel placement brader.

Thanks Kag. Aynz  ;D

In my case, i have two options since I have the drywall type ceiling...it's very hard to use screws because of the chalky material.

1) You can use velcro glued to your ceiling. The other velcro...glued to your panel. There is a special glue that you use for this...only drawback is that you cannot have a little air space/gap in between the panel and the ceiling. The velcro approach is better for walls and not really ideal for ceilings tho some people use this method.

2) In my case, a small hole (diameter of a round steel bar) on the ceiling and then i had the round bar, around half a foot lay flat on the ceiling from the other side. This is where you can attach a wire (thru the hole, tied to your round bar) or anything that will hold your panel's hook. So, your panel is literally hanging from the ceiling. You then have more flexibility as far as adjusting the distance of your panel from the ceiling and in turn, create multiple depths.

'hope it helps. ;D

hehehe. Bahala na po si Batman...try ko na lang different panels. I can get a 2" fiberglass 48kg density for the walls and was considering the triangle for the corners of the ceiling and walls using 4" rockwool with 80kg density. Pero, mahirap ata talaga ang bass trap...i will need a 33" thick rockwool to tame lower than 100hz. bwahahaha!  ;D
